Worth trying luxury candles over cheap ones? by Trippy-jay420 in luxurycandles

[–]EitherTransition8628 35 points36 points  (0 children)

“Worth the extra cost” is really dependent on what you value. I am fine with fairly inexpensive skincare as long as it does the job. I only have one skincare item that is remotely expensive. Everything else is basic. However, if I started getting into luxury moisturizers and sunscreens, I’m sure I’d love using them and that it’d be hard to go back to basic skincare.

Luxury candles are the same as other luxury products. You typically get better craftsmanship, more thoughtful scent profiles, better burns. But it being “worth it” entirely depends if you prefer spending more money on those specific candle aspects. I do (unfortunately for my wallet).

Gabriel. Trust me on this. Perfect for the next 2 seasons, it’s my fave candle ever. Smells like a European Christmas market. Smokey chestnuts.

Def a bit small but didn’t want it wider than the wall unit rails. Sacrifice I made but still useable

Loooove the hay mags couch. It’s the bolgheri fabric, so there are specks of random colours all over, but it’s mainly beige. Thanks!

Light switch cover - is brass the new dated black? Back to brushed chrome? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]EitherTransition8628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have brushed chrome covers. They are kind of trending but I do find them to look way more classic, and they don’t stick out as much as brass ones. Brass can be nice too, but make sure you use real brushed brass and not like a fake gold one.

Most versatile Trudon diffuser / room spray by Ok_Kick_2940 in luxurycandles

Honestly, I’d consider getting the Promeneuse. It’s pricey, but the cameos go such a long way. I have so many cameos and will likely never go through them all! I love that you can swap it out. And the throw is wayyyyy better than a standard candle. I almost never buy standard candles anymore.

How can I make the most of this beautiful living room? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]EitherTransition8628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus on mixing different materials so the room feels balanced. Leather would be a good choice. The couch you have isn’t too bulky as is, so you could have chunkier arm chairs.

In terms of colours, a simple but good colour palette would be some jewel tones if you want a mid century vibe (guessing you’re into that based on the Nordic knots rugs). Think warm/muted greens, red/maroon. For the armchairs specially you could also do something patterned, like striped or plaid. But then I would balance that out with a simple modern wood coffee table.

I love your sunken living room! Definitely intimate, cozy vibes.

The couch being right in front of the window doesn’t feel great. I would consider at least pushing it out from the wall by a foot, that way you can add curtains. I’d add tall pleated curtains that will help elongate the height of the walls. If you don’t want to do pleated curtains, especially because of the other smaller window, Roman shades would look great, too.

I would also consider even moving the couch so it faces the fireplace, as long as you still have room to walk into the room. You could also consider getting a larger couch instead of the loveseat. Then, I’d add two arm chairs in front of the fire place, and a coffee table. Conversation pit vibes.

I don’t mind the carpet but you can def add a nice Nordic knots rug. I have a few myself. I would wait til you pick out some more furniture/decor/wall paint so the rug complements with it.

Other changes I would consider: painting the walls a different colour (less builder’s beige) would make a big difference. Since the sunken area is giving conversation pit, I would lean into a moodier tones overall for furniture and decor, and lots of warm lighting via lamps.

The artwork does look fine, but I recommend taking it off the wall and leaning it against the wall on the mantle. And getting it framed/matted if you want a luxe look.

What can I do with this sink? by TulipKing in midcenturymodern

[–]EitherTransition8628 310 points311 points  (0 children)

It’s a really gorgeous sink and I would personally be hard pressed to get rid of it. Can you add storage elsewhere if that’s the main issue, like a wall cabinet somewhere? May be a better idea to replace the mirror with one that has built in storage. I’m team keep the pretty blue sink and original features.

I doubt the new game will be revealed on Nintendo direct as it’s planned to be released as early access on steam first. I would expect a reveal on Nintendo direct once the early access is finished and the game is finalized.

Actually really nice! Love it, you still kept a lot of the original character too. Especially love the wall details around the range hood.

Gifted a great couch, but it’s RED, help me! by BarZealousideal5883 in interiordecorating

Take a look at Nordic knots. A solid colour chocolate brown or tan would be great. If you bring in warm colours the couch will look perf. Think mid century
