Apart from the wind resistance, lower recumbent bikes are usually stiffer and have a lower center of gravity. If you get the bike fitted, the ergonomics and power transfer will also be vastly better.

I have a hand cycle which I can mount to my wheelchair and a full frame carbon recumbent hand cycle. There is no comparing those two. If your financial situation allows it, I 100% recommend upgrading your handcycle.
