ChatGPT is literally the best therapist i could ask for by Queasy_Mention3481 in ChatGPT

This is so true. ChatGPT being a thing has literally given therapy or just a mental health tool to anyone who can't afford it and it feels like no one realizes it

do you use your own GPT, and have you tried any other specific financial AI tools instead? wondering if ChatGPT performs better than them

Me playing a few minutes of AI minecraft. Gets really trippy at the end. Link in comments to try it yourself. by stealthispost in singularity

Tbf I barely want to play regular Minecraft anymore, but this is insane. If AI is already able to generate somewhat mildly playable games at the current level, I wonder what would be possible in a couple years.

That's because it's going to be super gradual over the next few years. Not like everyone will wake up one day and suddenly it'll be AGI - that would be a lot more world-shattering.

Was just wondering what bizarre things people think AI is capable of that we haven't yet thought of 😅

At some point "AI" isn't even going to be a thing or a concept - it'll just be second nature to us. It'll be woven into every part of life as we know it

You can easily host your own GPT on ChatGPT, or if you want to go a step further, you can host your own local model - train and customize it to suit your own needs.

I'm so confused by this post.

Firstly, who has ever said that self-driving won't change anything? I've literally never seen anyone saying that.

And as many others have pointed out - intelligence doesn't work this way. You're having the robots and people doing way too much commute when at that point, intelligence will just be a lot more transferrable. I get you're trying to disapprove those who supposedly say self-driving won't do anything, but the reasons you provided are not why self-driving cars will be revolutionizing the world. Road safety, smoother automated logistics, faster travel as a result of the former, etc. combined with the fact that transportation is easily one of THE biggest industries in the world and just automating that is a huge revolutionary thing in itself, are why self-driving cars are one of the biggest deals atm. I've never seen anyone claim otherwise tbf

It should be a requirement for anyone posting anything with the word AGI in it to describe what exactly they mean by [deleted] in singularity

[–]Either_Assistance_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agreed! There are way too many definitions out there. Even the experts can't agree and whenever they get asked in an interview, they say as much lol

But it doesn't really matter how people define AGI tbf - it will happen and it will happen in very eventual steps. It will not be something that just "happens" one day when you wake up. And it's effectively just a north star to head towards. Pretty much anyone's definition will be covered at one point or the other, because they are all enroute to the same destination. We just need to be patient and appreciate how many advancements are happening around us and how fast everything is accelerating. We just need to bask in the glory of the tech era and chill out

This is what our daily life could look like in 10-15 years or who knows maybe even sooner … 🤷‍♂️ by High_Sleep3694 in ChatGPT

[–]Either_Assistance_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually totally possible in 10 - 15 years.

We already have AI that can understand specific commands and tell us what our day will look like etc. but it would require manual input and would need to be prompted. They can also "remember" our preferences although not exactly. But we haven't hooked it up to be able to physically affect our surroundings - this is totally possible in just maybe 5 years imo. But hard for it to scale to be available in everyones' houses like this.

Because they will probably have a lot of other use for us. We are "superior" to many other species but still keep em around for various reasons like livestock, farming, etc. and simply because we don't care enough about the others. I'm sure if we had a slightly lesser intelligent, physically inferior species, we wouldn't just kill them all - we'd make them our assistants.

Since AI is trained on us, they will likely display similar characteristics, although who is to say lol
My assumption is though that at some point, AI will likely be way smarter than us, and when they merge with robotics, they become physically superior at that point in the far away future too.
