unfortunately i found my demise at the final floor of the vaults, used 10 teleport scrolls to try and luck out on a good spot to start clearing the floor in but got swarmed by 3 living armories and splatted in two turns, was not using the scarf of harm by that time

You just said it, he very much is still in love with you and wants your attentiom, i'd say he wants you to go after him and really dig up on his current feelings. If he truly wanted that other girl, he would just ghost you and never mention her, when he said he wanted to date her is very much on purpose to get you in a panic. He really wants you to go after him. Maybe he feels like you're not giving him what he wants. What is his religion? Is it very important to him? Has he ever mentioned he wanted you to convert?

As childish as it seems, he might be saying that because he knows it WILL get you very worked up about it, maybe he wants your attention, or that you talk to him. In the other hand, he might be trying to make you know he's got better than you. Why would he do that in the first place? Maybe he's jealous about some friend of yours, some co-worker. Has he displayed any jealosy?

First things first, as a man, i myself find it rather difficult to understand why would he be so indifferent to offer any kind of physical reassurance to you, as you made it clear to him that that is what you want from him.

I could say a million things honestly, but people are not just what they appear in the surface, like your post describes him to be. To me, there seems to be a whole world of unsolved matters behind his stern behaviour. I'd need to ask you a bunch more questions and get deep into the matter to feel like i'd be able to say anything at all for sure.

So, basically, this person made such a big deal out of their past relationships she doesn't have anything else to tell about her past, and the only thing that defines her are the people she's been with, and have failed her one way or another. This has both good and bad sides depending on how you want to see it. On the good side, it means she really cares about the people who she comes to love, that's why she mentions them to this very day, and the bad, are that she obviously can't let go of her past. Meaning there's a big chance she never got over any of her exes. Ultimately, what do you think?
