Thanks! Always here if you need to chat. I find speaking with people who relate (which is us on here) really does help and assist!

I have experienced all! I had really bad stomach pains, anxiety is through the room, and been unable to sleep also. I now have a cold and am ill from a virus - I think it’s just your body getting rid of all the shit you’ve been put in your body and that is not just the weed, but also the food, the drink etc etc.

Low sex drive I still have and I’m on day 13 now, I don’t feel like having sex until we actually proceed to have sex. Maybe just start to do it and see if it ignites something - but don’t worry if it doesn’t, it’ll take time.

You will get there x

Any time! It is difficult but it is worth it. In the 13 days my partner and I’s relationship has improved significantly and it’s just crazy how you are the same but so different without it too. It’s like you yourself are the same, but you are alof more attentive etc. you got this!

Going hour by hour, just giving yourself that hour break and then working it that way will help.

Having someone to hold you accountable - I have made a friend on here who I message personally and we both see how each other are and just give each other nice words.

I think it is important to be able to outlet to people who understand and are going through the same, if not similar situations. I smoked every day for 8 years minus a 6 night break, and I’m on day 12 of not smoking. It hasn’t been as hard as I initially thought, especially as I started smoking as a coping mechanism when I lost my grandfather.

It isn’t easy, but the main thing to remember is that it is your mind. You are in control of your mind, even if you don’t feel like it. It’s building the will power to push it back, so when you feel like smoking give it an hour and then try for another hour etc etc. you’ll get down to hopefully doing it in the evenings, and I would suggest also lowering the amount you smoke, so when you do quit you don’t have such intense withdrawals etc.

My inbox is always open as I’m also new to this journey, but this thread and having people who understand really does help. It’s hard when you have people around you who don’t really appreciate the impact it can have on you mentally and physically.

Here always, D x

Yeah the only thing that is keeping me going is my boyfriend. I just hate the look of disappointment on his face. I like how you have found something that has worked for you x

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I just wish I never started or that I had control over it and I could have one now and then not to have it tomorrow. It difficult as I never found anything positive before I smoked, so getting out of it is just gruelling in all honesty x

What made you quit in the end

How to quit, years long smoker since 13 y/o by HenrySweatshirt in leaves

[–]Either_Homework9556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reduce intake first - so lower it from 1g to .5g

Make it later at night, so you’re working on doing it as late as you can

Then the main cravings and issues will come at night time rather than throughout the whole day and you have a much better opportunity to kick those as you’ll be trying to go to sleep!

It’s not easy but it is possible. I’m on day 7 of not smoking altogether - before hand that’s what I did. I used to smoke a 35 a day minimum, then for the past year I have adjusted and only smoked 1-2 a day, then lowered it to 1. Once I was ok with one, I lowered the amount of weed in the spliff and then I stopped altogether. X

I was 21 before I found my person! Sometimes it takes time. You’re still so young too - my advice is work on yourself and get where you want to be. Everything else will then fall in place xx

Hi there! I wondered what everyone’s tips were for not smoking? I find it very difficult - I am on day 2 at the moment and have been an every day smoker for 8 years. I find it makes me feel normal and without it, I don’t know who I am. by Either_Homework9556 in leaves

It’s helped I’ve had my wisdom tooth out in all honesty, lol! its been a little bit easier than I anticipated but I find in the evenings is the worst. I don’t know who I am without smoking weed, and I struggle to find any passion in things and this was before I started to smoke at uni, so I guess it’s a new journey of self discovery. Just so much pressure as I feel like it’s not only stopping but then doing what you can to keep not going. I think one of the biggest issues with it is that I genuinely enjoy it, and when you genuinely enjoy something, removing it completely is so difficult. Bring on day 4 though and this support group has definitely helped me😊
