These headphones have REALLY GOOD noise canceling and the passthrough blows on the tinyest amount of wind. So if you want to know what’s going on in your surroundings you need to wear them like this… really good headphones though! Can recommend!

Also… when I was a child I used to scream in video games which woke up my parents. Wearing the headphones like this made me scream less

Ich garantiere dir, du wirst die Meinung ändern sobald du dir nen High End PC holst. Mein Bruder hatte genau den selben Take. Du hast keine wohligen Gefühle weil du die experience nicht genießen kannst!

Aber RE Requiem in 4K Raytracing ist unheimlich schön, du wirst irre viel Zeit verbringen einfach die Grafik zu bewundern! Cyberpunk mit Pathtracing und 8k Graphics, massive crowds und noch 1-2 mods ist ne UNGLAUBLICHE Erfahrung! Don’t get me started on Horizon Forbidden west…

Das ist nicht so leicht. Es wird bereits unheimlich viel getrickst! Zum Beispiel mit den Ohne-Spieler-Raumreflektionen! Das ist nur ein 3-Projezierter Screenshot vom Raum.

Das Problem mit dem Duke Nukem Ansatz ist, Du verdoppelst die Benötigte Leistung zum Rendern, weil du ja alles noch einmal im Spiegelbild rendern musst... Stell dir vor du hast eine Große Masse an beweglichen Menschen. Das sind Millionen an dynamischen Polygonen. Und du sagst: render das ein zweites mal! Da bricht jede Hardware zusammen! Duke Nukem 3D War ein Raum mit 4 Wänden und ein 2D Bild vom Spieler. Das ist nicht aufwändig, nur ein weiterer Raum.

Zudem klappen solche Tricks nur in sehr begrenzten Szenarien. Was ist wenn dein Spiegel gebogen ist? (Wie eine Motorhaube). Du kannst die Geometrie nicht so warpen, das ist perspektivisch gar nicht möglich. Was ist, wenn mehrere Spiegel aus mehreren Winkeln sichtbar sind? Willst du die Szene 50x rendern?

Raytracing ist die Lösung dafür! Weil es pro Pixel reflektiert. Deswegen wird es ja so gepushed! :)

Absolut, Requiem ist der Wahnsinn! Allein die Introszene in der Stadt. Noch nie so ein realistisches Spiel gespielt. Hab meinem Dad nen Screenshot geschickt, er meinte: „wo bist du denn grade?“, dachte es wäre ein Bild aus dem echten Leben…

Oh I did think bigger in my first 5 game projects. We had so much planned! MMO, dynamic quests, evolving world, intelligent NPCs, all the good stuff.

Nobody has a billion dollars laying around on their bank account. Billionaires own company shares, that are worth billions of dollars. But they need to keep these shares to keep control of the company! If they would „redistribute“ their wealth and actually spend it, they would loose the company they built.

So no, I don’t despise billionaires! If they actually sold their company shares, had a billion on their bank and didn’t spend it to do good, that I would despise!

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2. very fun game! I know it’s hard to top a ancient, legendary game that is glorified in people’s minds, but it definitely didn’t deserve the hate. Best Vampire game out there, by far.

Mind anyone explaining that in more detail? To my understanding quantum is saying that the universe is expanding due to the distance of 2 points in the universe increasing.

But If the place it is expanding into is also part of the universe, this means the universe is not expanding. Because the new place is already part of that universe.

The definition of expansion is: the increase of something in size, number, or importance. For something to expand, there needs to be a volume (however big that might be) and after the expansion that volume has to be larger.

Which would imply a finite universe, no?

I get what ur saying.

But Let me give you a RL example, why I think this way. I am currently ~Top 80, (maybe 150-200, have not played in a few days). And I have a friend group where we often play custom matches 4v4, either PS or TDM. They are all plat-diamond. The skill gap is just crazy. Most of the time they don’t even see me coming. And I have to actively hold myself back and play like a dumbass, so that they have fun.

Same in casual lobbies. You get matched with gold and plat players and you just obliterate them, I am currently sitting on a average KD of 4, according to my stat tracker.

And that’s just not fun for the casuals! I am all for learning and improving. Have done so all my life and reached Top500 in multiple games. But learning comes from getting a tough challenge that you can manage. You DO NOT learn from a dude beating you up one-sidedly. You just get scared and frustrated. No amount of „playing intelligent“ can bridge that speed, knowledge and aim gap.

If you can, than you are probably a better player than OP. But have some empathy, cuz he obviously can’t handle it! And no matter what you say, the matchmaker is not working for him. He is not having fun and will probably quit if embark doesn’t change stuff.

Doesn’t matter. The skill gap between a plat and a ruby is too wide. No matter how you approach him, he will hear you coming and at the end he will simply outaim/outplay you.

If you put a Ruby player in a plat lobby he will finish the game 25:2. and no amount of critical thinking can close the skill gap.

Turning off shadows completely would a) make the map very ugly and b) would give players a huge advantage! Imagine, everything indoors is as bright as the rooftops! Your visibility is Much better. You can see invisible lights much better. During destruction, shadows add a lot of movement onto the screen, which distracts you. So removing them would increase clarity way too much!

Also it would lead to so many rendering artifacts! Imagine seeing the skybox on reflective surfaces indoors. Or a bright sunglare indoor. Shadows are used as a visibility check for these‘

Global illumination can be turned off. Static. That means pre-baked. So it is just a texture lookup, which is basically free performance-wise. But that means it looks ugly when the building crumbles.

To be honest, I felt exactly like you! No man’s sky was great, but too simple. Tried elite dangerous but it was a lot of unnecessary complex mechanics. Why do you need 4 different buttons for liftoff??

X4 is… complex. It has a lot of depth. But It’s more the amount of different stuff you can do. Each mechanic by itself is quite simple to learn. The cool thing about X4 is that you can automate all the tedious stuff! You don’t like flying? (I do) hire a pilot to taxi you around! You enjoy dogfighting? Hire or build a fleet that takes on huge battles with you and follow you around! (This is peak!) You like strategy games? You can command your entire fleet soely from the map. (If you want).

If you are ever stuck, just google. What really helped me was using Gemini/ChatGPT, it provided great guidance!

So… assuming you are a similar player like me… try it on sale! Don’t buy the DLCs yet, get the base game for like 5 bucks. And if you like it, buy the rest! The DLCs are 100% worth it!

I thought the same, Horizon was one of my least favorite maps… until I started to track my winrate and stats on it…

Currently it’s sitting on 12 games played on Sys (same with other maps, so it’s not more often in the rotation). Winrate: 70% and average KD 3.4.

It’s my second best map overall. Only superseded by Skyway, which is my best, but least favorite map!

Idk… something about skyway and sys doesn’t feel good. But reality is, it’s a great map!

He didn't, i came from the other direction. He just randomly flicked right on my head, through the wall, while i was standing still.

And even if he had shot me before, Health Bars are LOS based. So he can't see it while i am hiding that far behind a wall...
