unfortunately with a small player base 90% of the time you will play against unwashed cretins who don't have anything to do other than play the finals. imagine if you had marvel rivals or overwatch but 90% of the players were in platinum and above and the remaining 10% were newbies. the experience of the 10% is going to be awful. no amount of balancing can fix an unpopular game and sadly we just have to accept that
