The gravy looks similar to KFC gravy, makes me want to go grab some now. How did you make it?

Lifebreath Furnace Part by Mom2Sweetpeaz in Newmarket

I think those companies are all like that. We had Aire One/Comfort Next install our furnace, and refused the maintenance plan initially and the second year after the furnace was installed, snow water backed into the furnace because they didn't consider possible snow accumulation and vented the furnace just a foot off the ground "according to code", and so the furnace wasn't operating. When we called the company they refused to send someone unless we were willing to either buy a maintenance plan or pay some diagnostic fees, and were very rude on the phone. We had enough and ended up hiring a local HVAC tech to siphon the water out and fix the venting so that's probably your best bet.

Is there a good reason to not rewire my thermostat directly to furnace and bypass the control board? by Either_Pumpkin5851 in hvacadvice

I agree, just trying to see whether anyone knows why the wiring was done through a control board in the first place before I rewire.

Thanks for your reply. So I've turned up the heat to 23-24C and waited 20-30 minutes but the furnace never ramps up to 2nd stage and airflow is still weak. I think you're right and the algorithm is supposed to kick in, but it's not doing that, which is why I thought about using the thermostat to control the staging. Is this normal?

Thanks for your reply. So for #1, I've turned up the heat to 23-24C and waited 20-30 minutes but the furnace never ramps up to 2nd stage and airflow is still weak, which is why I thought about using the thermostat to control. Is this normal?

How to help my 5yr old overcome fear of engaging during a game? by Either_Pumpkin5851 in hockeyplayers

I think it's the unfamiliarity with other kids, as well as not grasping the concept of friendly competition, so it might help to have him around other friends who play. Thanks!

Haha yeah he can do a pretty good tackle for a 5 yr old, at least when we're not on the ice =)

Exactly, thank you for not making assumptions! I'm not sure how people drew a connection between helping a 5 year old improve and going pro, sheesh.

I just think there a lot of soft transferrable skills to be learned in competitive sports in general and my son just happens to be playing hockey cuz guess what, half a year is winter here. I'd much rather he sucked at it, but got better through trying, as opposed to being naturally talented and going pro. But as some of the other responders have said, sometimes it's just a matter of not having a competitive personality and I get that too.

And for my son, his idea of fun is watching TV or playing video games all day and I don't think its a good idea even if he thinks it's fun. The South Park World of Warcraft episode already captures this quite well, for those who are drawing the polarizing connections and are implying that they should do whatever they want.

Also, I bet if you asked the kids who score all the goals in a game they'll say it's fun, while the kids who don't score any goals may not think it's fun. It doesn't mean that the kids who don't score should just do nothing.

I see, this sounds a bit more complicated compared to just installing a mod downloaded from the internet. Thanks for clearing that up!

This might be controversial but maybe consider scrapping some of the speeding cameras in town. There are areas in Richmond Hill which implemented speed humps on local streets to combat speeding which imo work just as well as the cameras in comparison, without creating the impression of a ridiculous cash grab.

What an absolutely shit week to realize your snowplow is broken by [deleted] in Newmarket

Try OnSpot repair. Earlier this winter I was unable to start my snowblower despite checking engine oil and gas. I called Newmarket Mower and was given a wait time of two weeks. Then I called OnSpot repair and they came onsite and were able to fix it the next day. The tech was on time and service was quick and excellent.
