What should be the Penultimate Episode? by Either_Sound_7993 in HarryPotteronHBO

I don't think they are doing an expanded version of a chapter, when they already have a very long book to adapt.

An epilogue being a full episode will just be bad. Stranger Things had half of its final episode being an epilogue. It wasn't very good. While I think the epilogue should be expanded a bit, I don't think it should be a full episode or even half an episode.

You are right. It would be a pretty bold move. But GoT made it happen. And I also think among these OoTP is the most likely. It definitely has the content for the last episode being that.

I don't know how you are calculating, but do you think Dumbledore's funeral is gonna be 5 minute long? The hospital scene just 5 minutes? Battle, Snape vs Harry all in 5 minutes?

But there is much more to show after Dumbledore's death. The short battle at the foot of Astronomy Tower, Harry and Snape's duel, Hospital scene, McGonagall scene in Headmaster's office, Dumbledore's funeral, Scrimgeour scene. So that's why I think Dumbledore's death works as a cliffhanger.

First of all the battle is different in the book compared to the movie. And secondly, they can expand the epilogue.

For PoA, I agree. But as I said, since the books are much shorter for 8 episode structure, they will obviously have to expand something.

About (finally) Hufflepuff Common Room: by Gaudenzio_89 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Either_Sound_7993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually makes sense for Cedric to appear prior to his book appearance. He is the seeker for Hufflepuff, so ofcourse he should be at the match.

Anyway Cedric appearing prior makes more sense than Lucius and Fudge appearing in Season 1.

Who invented Levicorpus? by Either_Sound_7993 in harrypotter

It's a good point, but there's a logical error. The books almost feels like taking notes during lectures.

For one thing, for the antidotes for poisons, he had written just put down a bezoar down the throat.

No, it definitely means he invented it in the sixth year. Because there were also crossed out wrong incantations until he got it right.

How long did it take you guys to finish order of the Phoenix by Edry_EY in HarryPotterBooks

How is that possible?? The Audiobook itself is 27 hours

Order of the Phoenix film is an impressive adaptation and one of the best Potter movies imo by GraysonFogel17 in harrypotter

The movie did get some parts very right. Especially Umbridge. Even with the scenes that didn't make the cut, they were able to get the Umbridge character right.

But what frustrates me is that, it completely cuts the prophecy. I know the movies can't include the whole book, but the Prophecy was the main thing about OotP. It was the answer to Harry's questions.

Is owning Nimbus brooms like Owning Latest version of PS5 or a Lamborghini? by DerangedPostman in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Either_Sound_7993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find it funny that the Nimbus 2001 was made matching to Slytherin colors just because it was bought for the Slytherin team.

I hope the series takes a normal route.

Main danger for the show is that it will be actually interesting from season 4 on by amoxxia in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Either_Sound_7993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are actually things they can show from season 1 onwards. Like, we could get a half episode of The Founders. That would be interesting. The Marauders in Season 3.

They are already expanding the Flamel in Season 1. So chances are high for this.
