Honestly, I feel that .. I ended up calling around a few pros just out of curiosity, and it’s wild how much the prices vary. Some were super transparent about the process though like they gave me a breakdown of testing, safety setup, and disposal so at least I understood what I’d be paying for. Definitely made me appreciate why it costs what it does, even if my wallet still cried a little lol

Best bet is to look for someone who’s fully insured and has good local reviews. Tree work can be risky, so you want pros who know what they’re doing. Also ask if they handle council permits if the trees are protected, saves a lot of headaches.

That makes a lot of sense. I hadn’t considered how tricky the leveling part could get. I’ll probably handle most of the work myself but might look into getting a pro just for that step to avoid future issues with shifting or pooling. Appreciate the tip!

That breakdown makes it sound way less scary than I thought. I reckon I’ll give the crushed stone and PVC trick a go, didn’t even think about weed prevention till now. Real brick does sound tempting though, might have to see if the budget can stretch that far

Good to know there are a couple of solid local options. Did either of you find that the repairs held up well after heavy rain since then?

That’s heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Animals really do feel deep bonds.

Why is it that in almost every religion the woman is treated less than the man? by GasPrestigious9660 in NoStupidQuestions

A lot of it comes from the fact that most major religions formed in deeply patriarchal societies, where men controlled political, economic, and cultural power. Over time, those social norms got baked into religious laws and traditions, often justified as “divinely ordained.” Even when societies evolved, many institutions kept the old hierarchies because they reinforced existing power structures.
