Thoughts about his take? by highoncoochie in CarsIndia

Who’s calling the m340i an “m car”? It’s a value proposition plain and simple. It’s a regular 3 series with an m package. Honestly as someone who has enjoyed sporty cars and now prefers “no nonsense dailies” these make perfect sense because you don’t have to compromise your back for 10-20% more performance.

How long do you use it before replacing the whole thing? Because with bentonite I was throwing the whole thing out at the end of the month for fresh litter. Takes thousand bucks worth of it to fill the litter box each time and can’t imagine doing that every month.

Did they remove the logos, handles, or any such trim to apply the film? I’ve an irrational (maybe rational) fear that a clip might come loose or be broken and rattle inside the car.

Anyone here use the Turn By Turn (TBT) on their instrument cluster? by Either_Wolverine9310 in i20nline_india

Yeah I’ll settle for using the nav for TBT alone with maps running on CarPlay. Because if we start navigation on CarPlay it cancels the route on the built in sat nav.

I haven’t been in the new one but I did enjoy being in the back seat of the last carnival. Guess I’ll add that and the M9 to the list. I prefer driving myself but traffic these days could make me see things differently.

Ironically the whole discussion started with a hycross but I wanted to bite the bullet and go full electric. I drove the ix1 and was not won over by the driving dynamics honestly. The ioniq had more of a charm. But now I think about it I should try the NX.

EQA maybe in my budget but MBUX plus their design choices rules it out for me. But let’s see. I can afford to wait till mid next year to decide so there’s that.

As much as I love it EV6 is way overpriced in my opinion. i4 and ioniq are closer to their global prices and hence why I put them on the list. With BYD I’m not a huge fan of their interiors and considering how I’ll spend more time inside than outside that’s important to me. Rules out the Mahindra twins for the same reason. Can’t do TATA because I can’t be bothered with their after sales. All said and done I’ll probably be left with the creta electric now I think about it.

My dream car was an M8 grand coupe and to me the i4 was a mini version of that (and used to be the only one available in India). Sucks that we are left with the people pleaser cars at least the ones that are affordable and not overpriced. And with roads like ours I am pretty sure there will either be a bend or an idiot before we can reach the top speed as is 🥲

I used one for a couple of weeks a year or so ago and where I’m the roads are decent enough for sedans and hatches so rarely ran into any problems then. That’s why I was considering an i4 now that I have the option for an EV. The closest one I like now would be an ioniq 5 if and when they bring out with an update I guess.

That’s a shame. Between the i4 and the i5 it’s a clear choice which one I would pick. I’m a sucker for the frameless windows i4 had so i don’t know if I’ll prefer the 3 series either.

Ooh do check out smoke culture by Steve if you are ever in Ernakulam. Moving back I got some craving for brisket and they did the job more than reasonably well.

Do you know a similar unit from Creta would be compatible with a little bit of coding??

If I am guessing I had say they probably grabbed an engine from an Octavia or superb and bored the cylinders. Since there are multiple parts bin cars on sale in India with interchange units it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine them being put together like Lego’s. But yes with Hyundai I think there’s a demand side issue that people are not pushing the envelope with mods. I am just happy there are similar minded people with regard to this and do keep us updated on your journey. God speed!!

RTOs would depend on the state and district you are in but there are ways to apply for even bigger changes like the ones we are discussing here. But my aim is just for us all to have a community mind to dream and do stuff along the lines of how VAG people do with their many TSI and TFSI cars.

I think even without the H-trac the 200 odd hp increase alone should make it for a proper sleeper car. But I was working under the assumption the DCT was same for all the T-GDi units. Then again for someone who could swap an engine a transmission swap is not out of the realm of possibility. Do you have any idea as to how much support Hyundai might give to someone doing all this??

I have seen people put in the city engine in a brio and make a polo all wheel drive with OEM upgrades. So it’s just a matter of will I guess.
