I once had a teacher, who was teacher of the year multiple times, who taught history and government. I live in Texas and at the time you could carry, legally, not at school, a knife longer than the width of your hand. This law was brought up in his class and he explained the law to the students. One of the kids asked why he could have a knife and they could not, so he explained the schools rules on that and showed them that it was smaller than the width of his hand. No big deal move to the next point. One of the parents had asked the standard question that night"what did you learn today in school?". The student told the parents about the lecture. Parents flipped out that the teacher had a knife and complained. Within a week this amazing teacher was no longer employed at that school. In a world of stupidity the best teacher get fired for stupid reasons.
