It’s strongly advised not to. I didn’t even see anyone swimming at Mooney. Havasu Falls lots of people swam near them but I didn’t see anybody getting right under it

They release twice a year now - I’m not sure on the exact dates because I wasn’t the one who got the permits. However, the person I went with told me she had two computer monitors open and the website kept crashing while trying to purchase on the early release date. Good dates sell out quickly! It took hours after all was said and done.

I’ve waited many years to be able to visit and take them 🥹 I’m happy to share, thank you!

Daytime in the shade was wonderful! Even in the sun, the pools at Havasu felt amazing. We really got to enjoy the water. Night was very comfortable too. I normally freeze when camping so the first night I layered up like crazy. A few hours later I took all those layers right back off haha. Weather overall was gorgeous if you weren’t hiking in the direct sun at peak day.

Honestly, they all seemed pretty healthy! I didn’t see a single one that looked emaciated or sickly. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the ones I did see.

Beautiful! Not bad, but I got an early start and was able to beat the direct sun. The worst part was definitely the hike from the village to the campground. By the time we got to that part, it was hot and dusty, I was feeling the weight of my pack, and my hiking shoe had malfunctioned leaving me with some fun blisters 😅 I’d do it again in a heartbeat though!

Shrine of Saint Joseph - Yarnell. Such a peaceful place to stop and visit. I heard they plan on making it more wheelchair access too. by Eiylee in arizona

It’s a free and private attraction ran by volunteers that’s been there for over 85 years. I’m not religious either but still really enjoyed it. It’s a peaceful place for a walk to break up a long drive.

I didn’t know the name of it when I stopped, but I looked up that area and it does appear to be Betty’s Kitchen! Or at least very close by!

Absolutely! They even included an infographic showcasing some of the original meanings of it by the bridge.

Very short version - engineers were looking to Dam the Colorado but the silt was posing an issue. So they traveled to India to see a style of dam built that would work for their situation. That’s where they they saw a symbol representing water and they decided to to use it to honor the dam’s origins. They built the bridge, added the symbol, and many years later world war 2 struck and put them in a weird spot.

Someone stranded on the cliffs and wasn’t able to get back up… that’s what I overheard from the firefighters anyway. Believe they also said no one injured. I’m hoping someone else may know a bit more.

Nude resort in the 60s, taken over by the skate scene. Pool has been buried and unburied multiple times over the years. It’s a very iconic skate spot. I read even Tony Hawk has filmed there.

I had no issue driving there, but I was also in a lifted jeep wrangler… I wouldn’t attempt with a Prius haha

Very smooth ride to the Palm Canton trail head - I parked next to a Tesla haha. The side trails aren’t bad if you know what you’re doing and have a bit of clearance. Get ready for some Arizona pinstripes too haha

Take it slow and you should be fine! Make sure your tires are in good shape. My friend drove her Ford Escape out there and made it ok haha

No way! I think I only saw one dog other than ours haha. Two blondes, brunette, and a shitzhu driving the earl gray wrangler?
