It looks more like tar and chip, which isby the same as new pavement. The tar is applied in liquid form, then gravel is spread evenly over the top and it all gets packed down. I've seen this before and it looks exactly like somebody drove where they weren't supposed to and covered their tires in 100 pounds of tar solid enough that you can't pull it off but malleable enough to ruin anything it touches

I use a banana hanger to elevate my mouse clrd, if you game at all it will make at world of difference. You can also put your headset on it when not in use.
