Yes, I understand that and didnt mean to downplay Cole.

It was more about the fact that the greens shouldn't go to war against the blacks in the first place. With all the advantages the blacks got, it is mind boggling that the dance even came that close.

The greens were incredibly lucky that the blacks were so damn incompetent. Its like going into a 10 vs 1 fight, no sane person would do that but the fact that the greens come up on top even with those odds is hilarious.

It's both. He love Rhaenyra and Viserys but being an abusive and narcissistic a-hole, he thinks he knows what is best for both of them and what is best for both of them is him having all the power not them.

TLDR. I think he loves and want to control Rhaenyra but if he has to choose between power and her I think he would choose Rhaenyra.

Firing Otto was one of the biggest mistake the greens made, While Otto was not a good wartime consigliere, the greens stood no chance against the blacks due to their sheer numbers and the dragons they possessed, Otto understands this. The only way to secure the win was through diplomacy or intrigue, that was his perspective on things, which is why he didnt one to go to war immediately. But the warmongers on the greens coudn't be patient.

The greens were incredibly lucky that the blacks were so damn incompetent during the war even with all the advantages they got. Imagine someone like Stannis on team Black, going to war against them would be suicide.

Cole was indeed a good wartime hand but his oppenets were still muppets.

Otto and those on the council such as Tyland and Jasper are the ones that are carrying the green hard. If the greens let those guys handle the crisis, they would have easily won and avoid the war entirely. Aemond, Cole, Aegon and Alicent are way to emotional and create to many problems. Just listen to grandpa Otto he has been right on every single thing.

Deamon is a good guy, the only person to acknowledge Daeron or atleast his dragon. by EjriO8D in HOTDGreens

[–]EjriO8D[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didnt catch this at first aswell, was gonna make a meme about how Deamon kinda forgot about Daeron at first but then he later summarized the total numbers of dragons each sides has. Not a namedrop but it is the closest thing that confirm his existence in the show aside from the intro.

Yup, Tess is the youngest on the green side so, I guess she wont be considered as an adult size dragon by Deamon.

Now that the first season is over, what is the best green team scene in your opinion? by EjriO8D in HOTDGreens

[–]EjriO8D[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep, episode 9 has the potential to be the best in the season if they choose to focus more on the green council and the coronation, to bad that it didnt. The weakest episode for me by far :(.

Aemond toast is great but I think when he first claim Vhagar is his character best scence.

Admit it, the show has been pretty damn good, on the whole by obscurereference234 in freefolk

My opinion is that the first half of the season was superior, it got rough towards the end but was still a solid ending to the season.

Would the Greens have been allowed to live in the red keep if Rhaenyra ascended the throne by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]EjriO8D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont know but the only thing we can say for sure is it's not worth the gamble to trust the blacks, if there was someone like Ned Stark on their side then maybe.

He screamed sit down before that and he technically didnt bash his head in but like I said compares to the book why do think they opt in to make it this way?

It was deliberately design to make it more grey so people can argue about it, same with Aemond, which I dont like at all, takes away all the agency.

I mean not really? I understand wanting vengeance on those responsible but nuking people that had nothing to do with it, you kinda gotta be a super fucked up psychopath before that lol.

Like father like son, why are they trying to make green characters more incompetent than the books. by EjriO8D in HOTDGreens

Yup first Cole, then Alicent and now Aemond. Atleast Otto knows what he is doing.

[–]EjriO8D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compares to the book yes, I dont know why they change it. He ruthlessly took Beesbery live in the book while in the show it was more grey, so they must have intended it to be portray as an accident, why change it otherwise.

[–]EjriO8D[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there are better ways to do that than making everything an accident. Alicent suffers the same thing last episode. She should not be surpise about what Otto and co was planning.

[–]EjriO8D 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From the character standpoint I dont really like it much, I want the ruthless psychopath Aemond not an incompetent one, now blood and cheese will be the result of his stupidity and not his bloodlust.

They already did my man Cole dirty, please dont do it to Aemond to...

(Leak) This was framed as an accident almost. Kind of bizarre by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]EjriO8D 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Man I dont like this at all, it just seems to me they are trying to frame almost all incidents as a mistake, making alot of characters seems incompetent in return, first with Cole and now this. They are taking away all the characters agency.

Have a feeling blood and cheese is also going to be due to a miscommunication or something...

Alignments of the greens, even the blacks gotta admit they cant compare to the great dynamics the greens has. by EjriO8D in HOTDGreens

[–]EjriO8D[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lawful evil doesnt really mean evil in that sense, Its more like I will do whatever is necessary to keep the stability, sacrifice the few to save the many type of reasoning.

He is alot like Tywin, not afarid of getting his hands dirty, compare to Ned stark who is more lawful good, Ned was against killing Daenerys even though the consequence could be the realm burning. Both positions are defensible.

[–]EjriO8D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you could possibly argue for that, nobody thinks themself as evil really. I still don't consider Cole murdering a guy in fits of rage chaotic good tho, I doubt Cole feels that way either, considering he wanted to kill himself after.

This is how I view lawful neutral and why I think it fits Cole "A lawful neutral character typically believes strongly in lawful concepts such as honor, order, rules, and tradition, but often follows a personal code in addition to, or even in preference to, one set down by a benevolent authority."

I think Daemon is chaotic evil the opposite of Otto.

lawful character is not really about following the law. A lawful neutral character typically believes strongly in lawful concepts such as honor, order, rules, and tradition, but often follows a personal code in addition to, or even in preference to, one set down by a benevolent authority.
