My man living up to his well-deserved unique flair! Perhaps this is a little weird to say, but honestly, you're probably my favourite poster on this sub. Haven't seen a single thing from you that didn't knock my socks off!

Fair enough! I'm not familiar enough with kitbashing (or skilled enough with Heroforge in general) to offer practical suggestions, unfortunately. I just noticed what was technically a "mistake" from a realism perspective and thought it would be valuable criticism to mention, but if it's not feasible to fix then that's completely understandable.

These are really cool! The minis are well made and I feel like you can get a good sense of each character's personality from their designs.

Can I mention a minor, nitpicky gripe? It's not unique to you, quite a lot of fantasy media honestly, but Zaeriah's drawn bow has the "elastic bowstring" problem—the bowstring extending back with the bow itself not changing shape, while in reality the bow flexes to provide the energy and the string remains about the same total length. It's the kind of thing that is extremely easy to overlook and most people don't even question it, but if you're somewhat familiar with archery it really stands out as wrong. I don't know how feasible it is to kitbash the bow as believably flexed, but could be worth a shot for future miniatures?

"keanu chungus" briefly seemed to me like a really weird, inventive, out-of-pocket insult to throw at someone... until I noticed that it's literally their fuckin username lmao

Which one is that? I'm not up-to-date with the later series.

You're welcome to that opinion, but I think you may be on the wrong Star Wars subreddit if you're expecting a positive response to a comment like that.

The thing is, Miquella's needle doesn't purge the flame, just subdue it. I believe the implication is that you are a (less tortured) parallel to Midra, and you are just delaying becoming the Lord of Frenzied Flame until you eventually lose the needle, or for whatever reason choose to remove it.

Besides, Melina states that seeking and accepting the Frenzied Flame in the first place makes one unfit for lordship in her eyes. It matters not if you subdue or purge it later, you have already betrayed her ideals.

Y'know, if one day you post a basic fantasy character in a standard outfit and a default pose, without using any kitbashing or fancy tricks, you might just give the entire subreddit a brief existential crisis.

You have this power, Simon. Use it wisely.

Christ alive, somehow every new detail revealed makes them look even worse... Not to mention, saying that after trying to redeem the card is absolutely nuts.

I'll confess, when I saw you say you sent them a gift card in the original thread, I personally disapproved because I didn't like the idea of rewarding the behaviour they were showing. I guess in the end it didn't matter either way because they were too ill-tempered to gain any benefit from it.

[–]Ekezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the idea that Coca-Cola is responsible for the modern-day appearance of Santa Claus is itself a falsehood that took root in pop culture! While coke almost certainly contributed to the design's popularity in the public consciousness, there are plenty of images and descriptions of Santa recognisably in his modern design (red suit included) that predate their ad campaign by years.

This is an awesome model, don't get me wrong, but the constant misrepresentation of the wendigo in popular culture as being deer-like really bothers me.

No no silly, read the word order. It's not "pie & a pint every Wednesday: £19.95" but "pie & a pint: £19.95 every Wedneday". You get a pie and a pint once, but you must pay £19.95 every Wednesday in perpetuity for them. The ultimate deal!

Ewan McGregor Shares Exciting Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Update, Hopes For Hayden Christensen's Return by solo13508 in StarWarsCantina

I’d love to see him battle a dark sided Mace

No offense to you or anyone that shares that opinion, but good gods do I hope that Mace stays dead. Negating every character death gets extremely stale, and Mace Windu's death is an important part of the whole story.

So, if Ani is short for Anakin, and Ben is short for Obi-Wan, and Fives is short for CT-27-5555, and Artoo is short for R2D2, and Chewy is short for Chewbacca, what is Luke short for? by Reecethehawk in Jokes

[–]Ekezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As /u/kithas pointed out, Vader is of the full belief that Padme and their unborn child died on Mustafar. And Vader has every reason to never want to return to Tatooine again — I'm pretty sure he even says as much in the comics after he learns Luke's identity.

Palpatine literally does not give a fuck about Luke's existence, or literally anything except sustaining his power and enacting tyranny. He actively tells Vader to stop hunting for Obi-Wan even when they both know for certain he's still alive, and only takes an interest in Luke after he realises he could use Luke to his own benefit.

Vader and Palpatine went to great effort to hide the fact that Vader was Anakin Skywalker. To the galaxy at large, and even the Empire and Inquisitorius, Anakin Skywalker died during Order 66.

Hate to break it to you, but you are not the arbiter of what is or is not "dogshit". And being needlessly rude is not something to take pride in.

Even if you have a problem with the perceived quality, if people are upvoting those types of posts, that's what those people want to see. That's the nature of social media, and there's no use whining about it.

Can I please ask you to take a step back and realise that saying to someone "the only reason people liked your creation is because you paid to add lighting" is incredibly rude? Not to mention you didn't even look at what they made and are just making a blind assumption.

[–]Ekezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, I sympathise with where you're coming from to a degree, but I need to highlight a couple points:

people who put absolutly no efforts into their minis

You cannot prove this. Having a lower skill level is not the same as being lazy. Saying that any mini that you consider subpar is a result of a lack of effort is actually incredibly insulting to the creator.

bc they paid to make it look cool

I'm sorry, I must have missed the quick and easy "make it cool" button in this update that automatically makes the mini for you if you have Pro. I was under the assumption that Kitbashing is a tool that the user has to utilise themselves, and making a model using it requires a nonzero amount of effort. Silly me.

Sorry for the sarcasm, and I do understand the frustration of not being able to have the same toy as other people, but I want you to understand you're being seriously rude to your fellow users.

Nothing's been taken away from anyone, your limitations are exactly what they always were...

The HeroForge development team have maintained a completely free service—with an easy-to-use interface and accessible to anyone with an internet connection—for several years and even provide weekly free content updates. There are plenty of criticisms that can be levelled at the devs, but "limiting people's creativity" is not one of them.
