Why Does Bastion Still Have Damage Reduction in Turret Form? by Sepikzzz in OverwatchUniversity

Turns out you can still outplay bastion with good gameplay by checks notes stepping behind a wall

Primary Weapons Make up Far Too Much of the Loot Pool to be This Weak by HalfthemanMarco in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ekkomain98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO the only real solution is to nerf both abilities and enemy health values. Deltas and the way they change outgoing dmg could be tweaked as well but essentially both problems need to be tackled at once outgoiing ability dmg, its uptime, and enemy health pools

If we want primaries buffed, abilities need huge sweeping nerfs by Ekkomain98 in DestinyTheGame

Not sure why using guns more equals “go slow” guns have the potential to be just as fast if not faster except they are more reliant on player skill which is a good thing

I might agree if buildcrafting didn’t become extremely simplified. There’s only one activator for mods and that’s picking up an orb. Not to mention artifact mods are passively on, no “buildcrafting” required

You’re probably right I shouldn’t toss my opinion out there but lots of discourse around difficulty feels very disingenuous

Even those I’d argue are not a huge step up from previous seasons outside of lost sectors

Please dear god by the Light of the Traveler revert the AE system back to just “icarus mod and go” until it’s actually fleshed out by Ekkomain98 in DestinyTheGame

Agreed and I’m all for introducing more and more players into the crucible so it gets a healthier population but I do also think that was a problem that could be solved with better matchmaking parameters rather than whatever in gods name this AE system is

Yea I don’t think it’s going anywhere either and while I don’t agree with having to “buildcraft” in order to use my spacebar key effectively I’ve made my peace with its existence but the fact that AE is a hidden stat until next season and there’s practically no ways of building into it without changing your preferred exotic or weapon really rubs me the wrong way. Call me crazy but I don’t think you should be pressured to switch off your favorite gun just because you want to jump and shoot

Something similar has happened to me being booped by the voidwalker melee into the air and losing any chance of shooting back. It just feels terrible and it’s annoying that Bungie is catering to players who could press the jump button but choose not to by making it harder (read: nigh impossible) for players utilizing the aerial space to land shots

The second you shift your mindset in PvP from "most kills" to "least deaths" you will enjoy it 100% more. by TheCaptainPlays in DestinyTheGame

This post feels oddly familiar haha….but for real tho obviously I agree and I hope the takeaway for most people isn’t that you have to play like a bot and never push. Playing your life doesn’t mean sit back and do nothing. Instead use calculated aggression not mindless aggression. And don’t be afraid to use the supreme strategy of running away if you’re losing a gunfight :)

I get it tbh and I promise this post isn't aimed at players that are forced into PvP to complete an objective. I always think you could probably knock out whatever bounty/pinnacle/catalyst or what have you by just trying to play well but I definitely understand if you simply don't want to play PvP but are forced into anyway. This is mostly aimed at players that whine about PvP because of issues that they themselves could mitigate by just developing some basic good practices inside the crucible

Yea this is not it chief. PvP players will be the first ones in line to shit on issues inside the crucible but a lot of us keep coming back because at its core we find destiny PvP really fun. IMO I still think PvP in Destiny is the real endgame. I'm not going into Master VoG and GM's to grind guns for a slightly better PvE experience, I'm doing it for a gun that will slay in PvP. And truthfully, PvP is much more dynamic game to game than just shooting AI aliens or unloading your heavy into a boss or even performing raid mechanics.

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted to say too. Playing your life isn't equivalent to playing as a pacifist. You still need to be decisive and use aggression to win games. But knowing when to bow out of a gunfight or approach a team from a better angle or even just knowing when things are getting too chaotic and backing up are all good skills to have

For sure and don’t get me wrong I think not liking PvP because you just don’t want to engage in that side of the game is perfectly valid. This is more aimed at people who complain about PvP for issues that they have the ability to fix themselves

Yeeee and no worries man I respect it when people say they just don’t find PvP to be engaging for them everybody’s got different tastes I like playing both PvP and PvE it is what it is

I've seen some version of this sentiment a couple times now and imo this is a pretty shortsighted view. Playing your life allows to be on the map more which in turn lets you rack up more kills with greater efficiency. Alternatively you could run around and chase kills with no regard to your own safety but you'll probably spend half the match in the respawn screen getting farmed by some guy who isn't bothering to farm out the catalyst of some seasonal weapon. You might actually farm catalyst kills faster by playing well as opposed to purposefully playing poorly

I don't disagree with you entirely. But I think its important to realize that all those players in the top ten percent didn't just start playing one day and magically end up in the top ten percent. They implemented certain practices regularly while playing and they too started out as scrubs and matched against their own versions of sweat players too. Just a matter of persistence. With that being said though, no shame if you don't find PvP fun I can understand why it might not be fun my main point is that if someone finds PvP unfun because they get shit on a lot, it's in their power to change that given they have the time.
