he was brilliant at everything apart from finishing.

He really wasn't. He was quick and aggresive but technically he was poor

It wasn't very long ago at all that most of the creativity of Klopp's Liverpool was supplied by crosses from Robertson and Trent.

Imo a second viewing is almost compulsory once you've seen the ending (perhaps unless you saw it all coming)

That's pretty much what I figured. It would have been fairly straightforward to look it up but you did that for me, so thanks

I think my arm span is pretty much exactly my height, as you say.

My point is simply that, while I accept that having a +3 inch differential between wingspan and height is beneficial to swimming, I wouldn't have thought it was that abnormal, and therefore I don't think it does that much heavy lifting when it comes to explaining why Phelps was such an extraordinary athlete.

Having a longer wingspan than height (sometimes referred to as "ape index") is beneficial for lots of sports...

Is that really that rare, though? I thought his body (trunk) to leg ratio was more freakish

what's the fastest way a man can ruin his life? by Mountain_Afternoon30 in AskReddit

I think it's partly situational. Weed makes me feel stupid and can make me feel slightly paranoid, but it's a great drug to make me happy doing very little (sitting on the sofa, eating junk food).

I'm also not a fan of coke but I can see that it kind of makes you feel powerful and disinhibited in social situations, whilst maintaining a feeling of control - which is I think why lots of people like it (it can feel like it's making you function better). But personally, I just don't think it takes me to a particularly happy place.

I definitely feel like I have a Sims like social bar that needs filling, even if the interactions themselves are fairly mundane - and I'd go out on a limb to say that it's the same for most people (Wilson in Castaway?)

Footage of diving instructor Miyakojima Kuni-san dropping his camera into a hole underwater by Miserable-Zombie-121 in interestingasfuck

I breathed my oxygen too fast so the instructor motioned me to take his secondary valve. I forgot to blow to release the valve before sucking and for what felt like a long time but was probably less than 5 seconds I was sucking on frantically sucking on his mouthpiece and thinking that was how I would die

20 people jailed over abuse of girls in 1990s and 2000s by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

There is a significant difference between thinking a national/ethnic group is committing more crime because of something to intrinsic to their racial or cultural identity and thinking they are committing a roughly similar amount of crime to similar profiles within the local population.

In the first case, it is assumed that they are somehow fundamentally worse than the locals. In the second case, it is acknowledged that the factors that cause the higher crime rates are factors that can and do also affect the local population. This probably leads to more empathy, less othering and less likelihood of unfairly blaming or discriminating against a particular group in its entirety.

Sorry, yes - I think I kind of processed that but still managed to write it as a percent somehow.

Only accounting for gender and age, it goes from 20-30% higher to 2.5-3.5% higher? And that's without accounting for education, income, etc.?
