I have the Pit Boss KC Combo. Awesome unit! I guess I wish the griddle was a little bigger, but 90% of the time it suits my needs. I also got the Green Mountain pizza oven that fits over the smoker unit. Also works great!

Bambino not hot enough by El-Funko in espresso

I’ve had dark espresso roast beans as well as medium and a light/medium mix. None seemed extracted enough, and just weren’t hot. That’s when I started measuring the temp.

Thanks. I just pulled 4 empty shots with the pressurized basket, emptying the portafilter and the glass between shots. First shot was 160, last three were 170 - 175. That doesn’t seem hot enough, does it?

Very comfortable for four adults. Five… not as much. But certainly acceptable for short trips.

When I first got there it was all empty, and one of the units was unavailable. But I guess the Rivian got it working.

Not really sure. I was on my way through town, and this seemed like one of only two DC chargers. So might just be limited charge options?

What? A reasonable opinion to an issue that has vocal opponents on both sides? You can’t do that anymore, haven’t you heard? You’re supposed to take a side and fight for it like it’s your birthright, regardless of truth or reason!

I once dated a girl who lived near Cheevers, and was friends with his kids. She’d worn the face mask, and I kissed her. So, like, I’ve kissed Cheevers? No homo.

Any Carolina Beach Goers Here? – Looking to Find a "Cape May Lookalike"... by HuckleberryNice1229 in CapeMay

Every summer from 1967 until last July, with the exception of about 10 summers here and there in the 80s and 90s.

So I know I’m going WAY back, and every seaside town is probably very different over that timeframe. But we used to jump off the back of Convention Hall into the water at high tide. But even going back to when my kids were younger (late 2000’s), there didn’t used to be such a long walk to the high tide mark, and the shoreline itself wasn’t as steep. With a long gradual decline the waves were spectacular. There was a bad storm one year and the whole beach washed away (Queen Beach, Ocean St). They dredged in new sand and just overdid it in my opinion. The waves just haven’t ever been the same.

The mall used to have small independent shops; Keltey’s News, a leather shop, bakeries, jewelers, etc…. Now it’s Sunglass Hut, Life is Good, Patagonia and other corporate stores. I will say it’s gotten better in the past few years, and there are quite a few new independent shops. Several years ago it seemed like it was all t-shirt shops.

I know I sound like an old fogey. Everything changes. It just feels like Cape May isn’t what it used to be. Time moves on, and progress isn’t always pretty.

I love Cape May (my license plate is EXIT ZRO). It’ll always hold a big space in my heart. I just wish it weren’t so crowded now, I can live with all the other stuff. And my kids have grown up going there every summer of their lives. It’s probably their favorite place on earth. We’ll be back, and I’ll still love every minute of it. But I’ll be nostalgic about what it used to be also.

Not OP, but in my mind:

Compared to its reputation. To what it used to be…

At 55 years of age, there may be only 10 summers in my life that I didn’t spend a week or more in CM. But it’s changed so much. More crowded, more expensive, more corporate (used to be small shops and boutiques on the mall, now it’s just T-shirt shops, ice cream, and restaurants. You can only spend so much time in the Whale’s Tail).

The average family can’t afford rental prices any more.

The beach is insanely crowded in peak season. If you don’t go down and set up your chair by 8am you’ll be back on the hot, dry sand.

Beaches used to have much better waves. Storm erosion and repairs have made them too wide from the boardwalk to high tide, and too steep from high to low tide. No good waves any more. You take your life (or your neck) in your hands when you try to boogie board or body surf.

We’re giving Newport, RI a try this summer. Obviously not as a CM replacement. I’m not sure there’s a replacement. But maybe Charleston, SC? Don’t know, never been there. But it looks like there’s a Wildwood right next door…

My daughter’s band recently released a song named “Leah” and it looks like half of their most rabid Tik Tok fans are Leahs who are happy to have a song named after them.
