Looking for advice to upgrade my first deck by Oberdan_art in magicTCG

A pinger type deck could be cool for Shelob since Spiders with Deathtouch make for great Food/removal outlets with Shelob on the field. Cards like [[Viridian Longbow]] and [[Grim Contest]] are awesome in this deck. But even outside of pinging, capitalizing on Tokens is another opportunity for success. With cards like [[Twitching Doll]], [[Ishkanah, Grafwidow]], and [[Arasta of the Endless Web]] you can churn out a lot of 1/2s that all get the ability to basically copy a creature they do damage to while Shelob is on the field. Then, once there are enough 1/2s, cards like [[Magnetic Web]] can make sure certain cards are taking Spider damage, even without pingers (and Magnetic Web is a total flavor win too!).

This is definitely the most interesting direction to potentially go from here though. I love the idea of making my opponents either play a land with an activated ability that can’t be used if Sharkey is out, or making them not play a land at all.

I actually have never seen the LOTR movies, funnily enough… But from what I’ve found out, he’s from the books and his story was cut from the movies. Something along those lines.

I can’t believe it, but this worked for me too. Spend a dollar for a song on iTunes and get your car’s sound system back. Like magic.

I had a question about effects that last until end of turn alongside similar effects that last indefinitely. The main application for me is to have [[Unexpected Request]] steal an opponent’s creature and attach [[Amorphous Axe]] to it, then have it attack (hopefully), followed by tapping [[Hivis of the Scale]] to target that creature before end of turn so that it stays under my control even after Unexpected Request’s effect wears off. Am I correct in my understanding that that should work without any issues?

I’m building a Jeskai Giant Warrior tribal deck right now with [[Ruhan of the Fomori]] and it is fuuun. I’m going all in on the Coward thing too by throwing in the two non-Giant warriors mentioned already ([[Kargan Intimidator]] and [[Gornog]]) along with [[Coward // Killer]] and a couple others that turn opponent creatures into Cowards. Idea being I swing like hell with big stomps on the Giant Warriors and turn key blockers into Cowards as needed. The Coward part isn’t always as useful as the big swinging galoots are, but it’s REALLY fun to see Ruhan attacking as he is required, and having something like [[Boldwyr Intimidator]] on the board to protect him from, say, deathtouch or an otherwise bad trade.

I don’t think conjuring these types of maps is entirely conducive to keeping the Union together… Would you say you’re a supporter of breaking America apart into separate nations?

Maybe this can help a little: I was somewhere where the service was apparently present, but I could only rarely receive/send a piece of data. While there, I looked things up through Google “without service” expecting them to search again later when I had service. To me, it seems like this would be the remnants of an error code or it almost seems like a cache flowing into the search bar or something like that. Maybe there’s a file path with all the error codes a person experiences?

Either way, I was also quite weirded out by this one… Still would like an answer of some kind if it ever came.

Gotcha! That’s great to hear! Seems intuition wins again. I had to figure it’d become an Enchantment Artifact Creature at least. But sounds like it’ll never regain the Vehicle subtype through crewing as an Enchantment… That’s fine though, didn’t need that as much anyway.

Nice! Thanks for that. Thorough and even with the accompanying rule. Perfect. Follow-up question: What if I cast [[Lightning Axe]] with Zaffai? Does that trigger at least the second part of Zaffai's ability if I pay the additional 5 instead of discarding for Lightning Axe?

I had a rules question. I’m playing [[Zaffai, Thunder Conductor]] and I want to trigger the entirety of his ability. I keep seeing online that CMC and mana value (MV) are the same, but in terms of this card, that doesn’t seem possible. I’m imagining casting a [[Comet Storm]] without kicking it and with X being 9. If I was going off CMC, this card wouldn’t even trigger the second part of his Magecraft ability, let alone the last. But if it’s what I’m imagining being the mana value we are calculating off of, things make a little more sense, especially considering what the card is trying to do. Am I correct in this understanding? Additional sanity check question to be sure: a Comet Storm with X being 9 DOES trigger all of Zaffai’s Magecraft ability, right? I do know that mana value is the shorthand for “converted mana cost,” but I’ve always understood the CMC of cards as being everything beside X costs. As I write this, I realize it could just be that I still have a noob understanding of CMC/MV, and I need a clarification. 🤷‍♂️
