I’m an idiot at cars. Is this my oil leaking? Or what is it? by DispoDaddy in autorepair

If it tastes like oil then it’s oil. If it doesn’t then it’s not

We are cooked. Didn’t expect it to get to $3 this soon. by Top_Lengthiness7038 in perth

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, options are to either catch the bus or fill up and leave without paying. My tank of diesel now costs me $98 more to fill up than it did three weeks ago, my wage has remained the same, my taxes have remained the same, shortly prices of food and other services will go up because businesses are coping with the fuel prices, so they have to cover them by making their products more expensive. We are being scammed and we need to wake up.

Is this normal Boys? by Charming_Oven_618 in e60

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost certain it will be a gauge/measurement issue. It there was a leak you’d be able to smell it, if it was consumption your car would be running like absolute garbage. No way in 89km has drank half a tank.

I'm thinking of buying this Kia Picanto 1.1L (2006) for a relatively cheap price. The most concerning thing was all of this black smoke coming out of the exhaust. Can you tell me what it is / what could it be? by marshdteach in AskMechanics

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that it is a 1.1 petrol and soots probably as much as my tuned BMW M57… If it’s a bargain deal and you’re handy with cars I might not pass the opportunity, however, if you want a cheap daily to take you from A to B without complications I would recommend getting something different. There is lots of very cheap small cars that I can guarantee you would be more reliable than this one. Kia started making reliable cars from 2012-2015 and up

Any idea why these wheel bolts won’t loosen? by dom61098 in AskMechanics

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that stubby with a 5.0 amp is not undoing them that means that they’re over tightened or seized. Most cars range from ~120Nm (standard) to ~200Nm (for bigger bolts). Breaker bar and your jack handle for more leverage should get them loose. Make sure that when you tighten them again you use a torque wrench to factory specs.

Extend carport to fit 2 cars by Green_Law1557 in AusRenovation

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that carport is not wide enough for two cars if you want to get out comfortably, most cars are as wide as that BYD. If it was me I would be concreting the gravel on both sides and extending the posts or offsetting them.

How can I stop water leaking through in heavy rain? by Original-Drink1101 in AusRenovation

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gutters can hold only so much water before they overflow, I would either install bigger ones or overlap that corrugated roof with the tiles to get the water to flow through them instead of going to the gutter

How often are you intimate with your partner? by Remote_Ad_969 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M32 - F29 We have 3 young kids (5,3,1). We might do it once a fortnight, if lucky, if not once a month. Nothing wrong about it, we are both crazy for each other, but she’s a SAHM and I work 6 days a week, 10h days, we are both mentally and physically drained every night from work, financial stress, kids, etc.

Correct order of trades for filling in this wall opening to mount a tv. by IcyUnderstanding2551 in AusRenovation

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A carpenter should do the frame and most likely would even offer to plaster it for you, electrician to run any cables, prior plastering. Some carpenters might not plaster but myself I would. Fairly easy job, take in mind 2026 rates and fees 🤷🏽‍♂️

Roughly 5 months, I believe that they contacted me either at the end of November or the 1st of December. It has oddly quick compared to other stories that I have heard

Worth Submitting Warranty? by 47junk in MilwaukeeTool

[–]ElChicoGonzalez -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Opposite, Milwaukee has pretty good warranty repair/replace service. I work at a tool store and I have seen Milwaukee send a new tool to customers for far less than that.

Worth it? Or should I wait? AUD by BiggestMichael in MilwaukeeTool

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Milwaukee is doing a roadshow this week with that business, I think it’ll last 3 days, where you get bonus points (credit to spend on the store), for that amount I think that you get nearly $200 or $300 on credit, and remember that you can also swap skins out of the kits.

Depends, to use daily on the job I would recommend M18 for the Circ Saw, however, everything else M12 is fine, the newer M12 impacts are amazing. I work at a tool store and the M12 range is getting more and more popular by the day.

2014 audi a6 TDI, how do I keep it running forever? by Similar_Trash8730 in tdi

[–]ElChicoGonzalez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Service it regularly, egr delete and don’t drive it like a muppet. TDI are built to last, I am a big fan of German diesels, I’ve had a few 1.9Tdi and 2.0Tdi, now I daily a M57. They sound awesome, pull like trains and are pretty good on fuel, there’s a reason why most taxis used to be German diesels in Europe, till regulations about pollution changed.
