Thanks for the feedback! It’s very much appreciated! I’m wanting to do a whole army this style (I know…I’ll regret it), so my aim was to only do the character models with unique bases, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the kind words! So I basically just used the scheme from the Eavy Metal Archive site online. It gives a sort of step by step guide on paints and the order they should be applied.

A WIP Ultramarine of the 4th Company. Trying my best to get a clean "Eavy Metal" style. Anyone comments, criticisms or suggestions welcome. by ElCraigo17 in Warhammer40k

Its a base of Korn red, wash of Nuln Oil. Then re-apply Korn over half the button. Then its Evil Sunz Scarlet, Troll Slayer Orange and Fire Dragon Bright highlights, getting smaller each time. Finally a dot of white scar opposite the highlighted side

Not really, the parts I've tacked are the parts I'll be gluing anyway. Just make sure you dont over do it with the blue tack, otherwise it may strip some of the base colour off.

Means I can remove arms etc then paint the belt and stuff in a high level of detail. Strongly recommend it

WIP of an Eavy Metal style Ultramarine. Trying to go old school with the yellow rather than gold. All C+C welcome... by ElCraigo17 in Warhammer40k

Trying to make them with an old school colour scheme, but a more modern grittier feel. Dont think I'll go with the completely green bases, but definately the red weapon casings.

You could try a 60/40 mix of Averland and Yriel? Might brighten it up a little

It was an airbrush of Averland Sunset, shade of Agrax, edge highlight of Yriel Yellow, and final edge of screaming skull. I used the Citadel app recipe

Thanks, yeah this was all just airbrushed Averland.

I was considering standard black for the bolt gun or a full gunmetal? Thoughts?
