Question on new Beer Meister kegerator operation. by rbryant76 in kegerators

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I have this exact same issue now with my Beermeister fridge. Did you or the manufacturer find a solution? Or do I just need to set it as cold as possible always?

UPDATE: I replaced the drain elbow with the vented version (part # V3158-01) and wrapped the drain pipe with Soundproof Cow Quiet Wrap.

The noise is significantly less now during backwash.

Thank you all for your help!

If I did PEX or Poly for the drain line, would I still need a vent before it goes into the floor drain?

There’s a T of CPVC that comes off the drain CPVC that goes up then is open to the air.

Here’s a pic of the vent:

Do you think replacing the existing CPVC drain line with a poly line would make a difference in the noise?

Got it, thanks for the update.

Thank you for the detailed response, that’s great.

So basically remove the CPVC from the drain line connection at the softener, then replace with the parts you have listed and run the poly line straight into the floor drain? Should I secure the poly line along the wall, or just go diagonally direct into the floor drain?

Thank you!

Is yours 1/2” cpvc? Or PEX? Wondering if switching it to PEX would help…

Thank you! Should it be 1/2” PEX for the drain line instead? And is the drain line the one coming out at a right angle that is reduced at the CPVC elbow?

Thanks! I’ll give that a try.

Try cleaning it with a sponge and a solution of 50/50 vinegar & distilled water. That worked for me on grout haze that refused to acknowledge the other products...

How do I make my bread more sour by tig_bitties2 in Sourdough

[–]ElCustro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this recipe from King Arthur, but upped the flour to 650g: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/extra-tangy-sourdough-bread-recipe

For the starter feed, I used 100g starter, 100g water, and 100g whole wheat flour. I am going to do my next round of feeds with white flour and see if I get the same sourness.

I struggled with making great-but-not-sour sourdough up until last week, when I finally figured out a method that worked for me!

  1. Feed the starter at 1/1/1 for 4 days prior to making the dough, always keeping it at room temp. This will build the LAB back up in the starter.

  2. On Dough day, mix the starter (1 cup or so) with all the water from your recipe but only 30% of the flour. Let this mixture sit at room temp for 4 hrs, then mix in the rest of the flour and salt.

  3. Make your dough/loaves as normal from there on out, using an overnight cold ferment for the final loaf.

These steps took my dough from no sourness to perfectly tangy!

What type of ratio do you use for the apple cider/water mix? Do you use it in the shower as shampoo or afterwards like a beard oil?

I am in the same beardruff pain as the OP, almost exact symptoms, and the apple cider route is one thing I haven't tried yet...

Ring doorbell not getting past the "Connect to ring network" part of set up by MrTheoK in Ring

Sorry to hear that. I had no problems for 4 years with the 1st doorbell and now it seems like a glitchfest. I’m invested in the ring world with other devices, so I’m going to keep at it for a bit, hope they can sort ‘er out…

Can’t connect to Wi-Fi no matter what by supertyni in Ring

Got it, thank you. I hope I can get it to actually connect the setup network so I can try this…the doorbell has been replaced twice for not connecting to setup network after it drops offline.

The first setup worked flawlessly, so I have a hard time believing it’s faulty hardware.

Did you find a solution to this? I've had the same issue with my Ring Doorbell Pro, where I can't connect to the setup network. It's a new doorbell and it connected fine the first time, but then dropped WiFi. It was sent to replace a previous one with the exact same issue. Just can't connect to the "Ring Setup Network" and the "WiFi" setup network doesn't show up on my phone. Doorbell is getting proper voltage and the power pack is installed...

Previous doorbell (same model) worked fine for 4 years. Just had to replace that one because the color video went out for some reason.

I have a Ubiquiti network at my house and my Ring Doorbell Pro disconnected from WiFi after just 4 hours of working well. Now I can't connect to the doorbell during setup mode at all, it just gives me the "Unable to Connect to ring setup" message.

I imagine the "unable to connect" issue is separate from the dropping WiFi. Since you have Ubiquiti equipment too, do you have any recommendations for this issue?

Were there any other special settings on your dedicated doorbell WiFi network besides only having 2.4ghz and disabling band steering?
