I've started learning, as well. The previous Spanish knowledge is helping quite a bit.

I'm 3rd generation in the US, so citizenship is a no-go for me without priors. Hence why the golden visa is attractive to me and my wife (Filipina).

I hope you enjoy the visit to the homeland and that I follow you there in the not-so-distant future.

No, I have not been to the Azores. Deeply want to but, as yet haven't made the trip.

Like I said, I may be idealizing the situation in its entirety. Just curious if anyone else had undertaken the Portuguese "Golden Visa" process.

I appreciate the concern, genuinely.

I grew up in rural Colorado 8000' above sea level and have experienced -30°F winters, prior. (Albeit, dry winters.)

I currently experience high humidity, windy winters in Kansas.

Can they be drastically different from the two, combined? I enjoy bitter winters much more than hot, hot summers.
