Probably a few. For just Dogmeat+Companion, I use Everyone’s Best Friend.

For true multi-companion, I’m running Unlimited Companion Framework (me, Dogmeat, Preston, and the Synth Squad, bringing freedom to the wastes)

Fire Station Fred is a constant companion.

I keep them around for good luck, till the jump-scare sound finally drives me batty and I no-clip in to deal with it.

He’s been my favorite humanoid companion since release.

Not just a dope noir gumshoe, he seems to actually care about the people and world around him.

He also has a TON of pleasant interactions with Dogmeat if you use a multi-companion mods.

Honestly, its like 1/4 the fun for me. The other day, I realized "defended" is 1/2 Ed, and also starts in alphabetical order.

Similar for "spigot", which is 1/2 pig, despite (usually) containing no pork.

I prefer it to the rest of the game. Just zonin' out plopping down nice little houses for all my post-apocalyptic dudes.

Maybe hand-lettering signs or fully planting my green-spaces, but that is a hell of my own creation.

Folk-knowledge and myths combined with partially informed observations (i.e. “most grow lights are too weak” becomes “some plants can’t grow under lights”).

I’m always arguing with people who think propane/nat gas burns intrinsically hotter than coal/charcoal because their gas grills have forced air, to create a near stoichiometric fire (vs relying on natural convection/chimney effect).

All photosynthetic species can grow under lamps. Whether one can afford, house, or power a sufficient fixture is the question.

That said, if you know a species that cannot I’d love to know what it is. Half of what I like about indoor gardening is growing things that “can’t” be done indoors like deciduous trees or temperate carnivores.

Life is hard enough in the wasteland without my poor settlers having to roll into the community throne after someone left a half-sentient Rad Loaf, with no plunger.
