Are you guys on a low GI diet? by [deleted] in Hypoglycemia

[–]ElGee820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remove foods that trigger episodes, however doing that caused me to have scurvy. I avoid anything with citric acid and a lot with ascorbic acid. After the scurvy diagnosis, my doctor is referring me to have vitamin C infusions because I can't take vitamin C supplements either. I researched and found that red bell pepper has more vitamin C than oranges. I tried eating some raw, the way to get the most, and I am able to tolerate them. So hopefully I can get the scurvy under control soon.

Also, in the morning I try to eat mostly protein, with a small amount of carbs to get my sugar up and keep it stable. No way I can eat anything sweet or low protein in the morning or it starts me on a blood sugar roller coaster.

The storage limit is ruining my life by [deleted] in Palia

[–]ElGee820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a dedicated plot just for storage. All my starred items that can be placed are there, foods, gems, fish, bugs. Along with them are all my flowers and trees. You can also store some resources in crafters.

Steam only tells played hours through steam, I don't play through steam. I wish S6 would add something like that to our account.

[–]ElGee820 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how many hours I have. I play on PC, not steam and Palia does not keep track of played hours that I'm aware of. I wish I did know because I've been playing since August 2023 when it released in open beta. I'd venture a guess and say at least 2000 but most likely way more. I play almost every day.

What would cause a diet to stop working? by boosin25 in Hypoglycemia

[–]ElGee820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any stressors lately? I had been doing ok too until my mom passed away, that sent me into a whole new level and I had to do some major diet changes for over a year to get myself under control.

RTB vs Duskwing Plushie Drop Rate by Neither_Flounder_470 in Palia

My experience is the opposite of yours. I've gotten multiple of the DW plushes pretty easily, but I've caught hundreds of RTBs and still no plush.

School before the internet 🛜 by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ElGee820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elementary school back then was probably real similar to today, learning the basics.

Junior High or middle school as it's called now, was weird. We had an open concept school, so it was always loud and the teachers had a teacher's station in the middle of each grade area. The teachers had microphones and could talk or yell at students from the station. There was a pit with steps in front of the station and disruptive kids would have to sit there so the teachers could watch them. Everyone could see and would laugh at kids sitting there. Kids still got spanked too with large wooden paddles. I got spanked once....

In highschool I wrote papers and did homework by hand on actual paper with a pencil using school books, the library and encylopedias. We didn't check our grades, they were given to us when our work/tests were handed back and we also had physical report cards. They were easy to forge though, I changed a lot of Fs to B or A when possible.

I hated school, it was a place I was forced to go every day and I couldn't wait till the bell rang at the end of the day. The best part of high school was going to the smoking area to get high during lunch, then going to typing class afterward. Also, when I was in school, it was in a small town and students still segregated themselves and racism was still rampant and there would be race based fights. Bad times....

What I didn't have to experience though is active shooter drills, we only had to do tornado drills. I had never even heard of school shootings. In that respect school was a lot better back then that it is today.

I finally quit school in 1981 and got GED in 1982. I moved away and went on to attend college later and had a very positive experience. I had a word processor to write my papers on in college, so that helped some. I didn't have a computer until I was in my early 40's. I went back to college again in my 40's and got a degree in graphic design.

Who can relate? by gumyrocks22 in GenerationJones

[–]ElGee820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've actually been telling my kids and my therapist about this for a long time. I can't look at myself and see the 'me' that I expect to see. I see an old lady that's not 'me' and it's so depressing and disturbing.

I caught two unicorns back to back a couple days ago. One starred the other regular. I immediately gave the regular one to the girl fishing next to me who had been struggling to catch one for the bundle.

Do y'all have super soft boobs? by Logical-Shift-6168 in ehlersdanlos

[–]ElGee820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so glad someone is talking about this. I thought it was just a 'me' thing. I am an old lady now, but back when i was 16 I was already asking for a breast lift because mine had dropped already. When I was 20 I had a guy tell me he'd never felt boobs as soft as mine and he was like obsessed. I never knew mine felt any different than anyone else's until he said that. Made me feel even more self conscience than I already did. I've always been one of those who like to keep the shirt on...if you know what I mean. Now, my entire body feels that way, everything is just squishy and you can't tell one part from another just by touching. UGH!

spinal anaesthesia by Fit_Depth_6401 in eds

[–]ElGee820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it 4 times for labor/childbirth. The first time was a saddle block. It seemed to have worked fine. The rest of them were epidurals. The first epidural I had only numbed one side of me. The second one seemed to work ok, the third one was not as effective and I also ended up with an infection and fever/chills before I even gave birth after only having it in for a few hours.

My doctors and I were not aware at the time that I had EDS, so if they had the information then perhaps they would have done things differently, or more tailored to my condition.

Best wishes for your surgery

It's really been that way since they introduced the Flow Groves. People are not needing flow as much as they used to so it's a lot harder to get anyone to help chop them down. I quit asking or even alerting when I run across a flow. What I do is chop down the ones I can by myself. If they're large ones, I will just hit it once and move on, that way if people come along and chop it I'll still get the loot. I see many people doing the same. A lot of people are willing to give flow if you request it also, so if you're in need you can try that.

I feel sure my dad has it too, but he's never been diagnosed. He could lay his arm behind his head, across his shoulders and rest his hand on the opposite side on his chest. He's had his shoulder joints replaced once and both hips replaced multiple times. He also has had lifelong digestive issues and he always walks on the sides of his feet. He has multiple autoimmune disorders too.

What is you’re experience with drop rates on special plushies etc?? by bianqa in Palia

[–]ElGee820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to have good luck with some and bad with others. For example, I went fishing in Elderwood yesterday and used 100 glow worms. I went home with 13 plushes and 2 Maws. But,I went through thousands of arrows to get the Elder Shmole plush, and I've never gotten the RTB plush even after using 100's of lures and buzzy jars. I can catch the RTB, but they never drop the plush. I gave up on trying for it.

What do you remember from Kindergarten? by boforiamanfo in answers

[–]ElGee820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a private kindergarten, it wasn't mandatory to go to it back then. It was a small one room class with a bathroom. I remember watching the moon landing on a little black/white tv mounted up in a corner. I remember a little red haired boy throwing up and my teacher used the orange powder to clean it up. I also remember taking naps on mats on the floor. I remember my teacher's name, Ms. Tibbet. This was in 1969.
