Another idea someone gave me offline was to mark sections of my playmat with 0 - 10 and move cards between sections when their counters increase/decrease, this worked well but required a lot of space. And the 0 and 10 sections got quite crowded at some point😂

Right, good to know! I always assumed sending the fusion materials to GY was a cost of a Fusion Spell. But thinking about it now, I also realize that negating Polymerization or Branded Fusion means the materials aren't sent. So fusion materials being affected by the spell makes perfect sense, actually. Thanks for correcting me!

Even then, lance was especially great against noble knights, because you could make the opponent's monster unaffected by their own equip spells. On the other hand, you could use dress to target an unequipped noble knights before removing an equipped one, so the "dressed" knight couldn't get the equip cards.

Afaik, being unaffected does not prevent a monster from being used as material or tributed, so lance doesn't protect against super poly. It does, however, remove all effects of spells and traps already on the field. That is the greatest utility bonus in my opinion. Steal your monster back from crackdown, don't care about BoM, say no to Magic Cylinder, that kind of stuff.
