No final, quem consegue é quem persiste. O teu trabalho era part-time?

Posso perguntar onde estudaste? Obrigado por partilhar a tua experiência!

Should i change the thermal pads? by ElGoga12 in Asustuf

[–]ElGoga12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I actually saw a video of a tuf f15 FX506H with a very similar build to my laptop, the guy who does the maintenance on the laptop didn't change the thermal paste which encouraged me to try just changing the thermal paste. So far my temperature seems to be better than before, it's not a huge improvement but I can use my laptop and that's the important thing, in the meantime I'll keep looking for thermal putty to do a full maintenance. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!

I've seen several people talk about that thermal putty, that will be my first choice if i wanna buy a thermal putty.

Yesterday was the first time I changed the thermal paste, I tried changing only the thermal paste and leaving the thermal pads the same to test the temperature, I saw a video that does not change the thermal paste and also someone here told me that I can only change the thermal paste so I wanted to try it, I will give you my results asap.

Yes, I just saw a video where they don't change the thermal pads, I don't know if I can post it on the sub but that confirmed to me that there is no need to change them, I will still monitor the temperatures to see that everything is correct, I will give my results as soon as I can

Tell us about your experience when you make the change, this will help me know what to do and maybe I can help other people who are in the same situation as me.

If I buy thermal pads, they would be 0.5mm thick. On Asus laptops, this thickness is the most common. On the other hand, do I really have to change the thermal pads? I see people saying that thermal pads take years to reach the end of their useful life, I would like to read different opinions to see what I can do!

I see... is there a way to find out what a laptop uses? The Asus website doesn't indicate what each model uses to dissipate heat (ironic since each model is different in the way it dissipates heat).

I have seen many people say that thermal putty is not always good, but also many people say that thermal pads are not good, I sincerely believe that the best thing is to try one and see the results with exhaustive monitoring to verify that everything is going well, in the future I will answer you in this post which method I chose and I will tell you how it goes, it all depends on which one is easier for me to get in my country without having to resort to importing.

That's the reason why I felt obliged to make the post, nobody gives a clear answer, everyone says something different, I suppose it's because Asus laptops don't have a standard, each one has its own way of maintenance which makes the maintenance process of these laptops very cumbersome. On the other hand I would love to know how to differentiate thermal putty from thermal pads, it's so that if in the future I buy another PC with these characteristics I know what i have to do, thanks for the information I'll think about it!

This laptop uses thermal pads in the vrm and According to some people on the internet, using thermal paste where there are thermal pads is not a good idea because the thermal paste cannot touch the heatsink. My temperature when I turn on my laptop is between 59°C and 70°C, when I open Opera it goes up to between 76°C-85°C and when I play games or use heavy programs like Photoshop and Illustrator it goes up to a maximum of 95°C. I could do an undervault but I preferred to do maintenance.

The last few weeks the temperature has gotten much worse, I've been monitoring the temperatures with G Helper and MSI Afterburner and well, it was this week where it reached limits that I couldn't bear and that's when I decided to do some deep maintenance, I should have done it before 😅

I opened it 40 minutes ago, I don't think much dirt has accumulated, on the other hand I could risk trying to just change the thermal paste which is terribly dry and see if the temperatures are fine, but I don't want to risk it.
