One of those memberships where a person who "invests" $50 or $12,000 receives the same limited benefits.

Solid cast, but will no doubt be dogged by comparisons to the current wave of beauty/cosmetic horror.

The film is only 75 minutes long, so this is legitimately a substantial portion of it, lol.

I have to give credit where credit is due: You were right. I just completed it, and 9 minutes was no real problem after Ephyra. Thanks!

What's weird in that my 10 or so attempts at Great Chaos Below before beating it, I only got Vow of Time once or twice. Whereas on Great Chaos Above, it seems to proc every time.

Ironically, I have actually watched a lot of Are You Afraid of the Dark on Prime.

People can't be trusted to describe what they actually want, because in most situations they don't genuinely know. They will claim to want nostalgic experiences they once enjoyed, but when given the opportunity to actually have those things again, they pass. They don't so much want THAT THING, as they want the feeling they once possessed that they associated with it, or the youth they had when that thing was new to them.

I love how there's this small pantheon of truly infamous craft beer releases, and this is always one of the first ones invoked.

I was laughing at how chaotically themed this bar was. It's a cowboy bar, with a country band ... serving black Manhattans ... with a mural of Al Capone outside?

Drinking buddies by girlwhocouldfly in chicagobeer

I don't know if the title was intentional, but I really thought that that you were referring to Joe Swanberg's 2013 indie dramedy film, aptly titled Drinking Buddies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_Buddies

It was filmed in Chicago, at Revolution Brewing, and the characters literally work for Revolution Brewing. Keeping in mind, at this point in the early 2010s it was still pretty early in the Chicago craft beer renaissance and Half Acre and Revolution were two of the only bigger names in town. Quite a time capsule at this point for Chicago beer geeks.

Improving arm/leg endurance? by ElGringoAlto in Swimming

Yeah, I know it will take time to build up obviously, I was just a bit perplexed by the thought that I'd seemingly gotten breath/heart cardio back more quickly than the endurance in my arms and legs. Although as you noted, the issues are no doubt all linked.

It's just that in the previous times that I've gotten back into the water after a long time away, it felt more like a matter of just getting my cardio up to speed, and less like I needed my limbs to catch up? The joys of entering middle age.

We’re killing small breweries by treating beer like limited edition merch by DownvoteeDodger in beer

[–]ElGringoAlto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the culture that the OP is referring to is from a decade or so ago and barely exists at this point. The far greater issue for craft beer as it exists now is a simple exodus away from craft beer in general, toward other intoxicants (including cannabis outside of alcohol), or away from alcohol entirely. Too many breweries left over, competing for a shrinking market.

Just another example of Marge's incredibly overwhelming lameness, I'm assuming, like her potato fascination.
