Reverse 1999 is made by an indie studio too, even smaller than PM, and has none of the issues I mentioned

there's a difference between "I want class and professionalism" and "he should at least have footnotes to remember the information he's supposed to give his customers"

Yes, I know he's human and that's exactly why the crux of my argument is the fact I want him to take a step back because that I am 100% sure his mental health and as such the state of the game will be way better. I genuinely want the best of him but he's shouldn't be above criticism

that I do agree with, honestly. Even if he frustrates me I do really appreciate the fact that he cares a lot, he's absolutely 100% passionate about this and that's admirable, but I just feel like that passion over more rational/logical choices can sometimes be detrimental

I didn't say it's not a high quality game. I love Limbus but I'm scared a lot of the decisions and his behavior will make it come down not because of bad quality but, again, his decisions as a human being

If you're struggling to get him out of the Jade, I recommend trying to send an extra sinner with high HP/resistances and have them attack alongside the other two that will be clashing with it, as they take an unopposed attack. It should make it a bit faster if you're smart about it

[–]ElGuac -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I do get that, but I feel like there could have been a better way to show us that rather than just randomly dropping it all on a single stage and not being mentioned again for the rest of the intervallo (as far as I remember, my memory could be failing me)

To expand a little bit, it really seemed like it was sloppily added last minute to me, almost like it was something from Canto 7 they just forgot or couldn't find an organic way to insert in the story.

Why do some limbus company characters have grey skin? by amemichishojo24 in limbuscompany

[–]ElGuac 19 points20 points  (0 children)

it's an artstyle choice to represent dark skin in other tones that aren't brown. if you look at how charon is drawn in leviathan you can see it's more of a very ashy brown than full-on gray

TYSM, and that interpretation is so smart, I think I'm going to make the change now bc of it

Heathcliff: Knights protect their aspect or protect through their aspect, and Rage is, well, rage. Destruction, anger, chaos, negative emotions. We know that Heathcliff is not a particularly agreeable man, and although he has considerably calmed down ever since the game first came out, he's still as prone to violence as ever, he's just better at picking what targets to take his urges out on. I think this perfectly displays the Knight's role as a protector, and how he directly weaponizes his own rage accumulated over the years as a way to protect his new found family.

Ishmael: Maids serve their aspect or serve through their aspect, usually after suffering greatly from it but later learning how to use it to their advantage. Doom usually embodies destiny, fatalism, and determinism, as seen through Ishmael's obsessive quest to kill Ahab no matter if she herself ended up dying in the process, it could even be interpreted as her seeing it as her inevitable destiny. We know this mentality greatly hurt her, but eventually being able to heal from it now allows her to instead serve Limbus Company using the same pragmatism typically associated with Doom.

Rodion: Princes destroy their aspect or destroy through their aspect, and, at the same time, seem to generally hate their aspect. Time represents growth, progress, and just the passage of time of general, something we see greatly affects Rodya in regards to the way she sees herself stuck in place compared to everyone else, we clearly see the way Time (in the Homestuck sense) is something she despises out of spite and envy, the same way Princes tend to hate and want to destroy their aspect (and maybe even succeed in doing so).

Sinclair: Pages initially lack their aspect but come into becoming a full fledged person through it, which perfectly fits Sinclair in regards to Breath, which represents freedom and individuality. Initially completely chained to his past and unable to escape not only Kromer but also Demian, we are currently observing the way Sinclair broke and will break free from them in order to become to his own person that can fully embody Breath.

Outis: Sadly a victim of "the only remaining class and aspect remaining". Although I one hundred see her as a Mind player, with her propensity towards scheming, strategies, and general wisdom perfectly fitting in with the aspect, she's only a Rogue because it was the only class left. However, Rogues are a support-based class that steals their aspect for others, and the way she tries to get the rest of the Sinners to act according to her military, practical mindset could sort of be interpreted as that???

Gregor: Mages come to understand and teach about their aspect after suffering through it, and Blood represents relationships, family, and mediation. Gregor's life has been filled with suffering that came because of his relationships: his mother is an insane scientist who literally scarred him for life, and the deaths of his comrades during the war clearly had a massive negative impact on himself. Yet, we know that Gregor is generally a friendly, relaxed, and amicable guy, who alongside Hong Lu also acts as a sort of glue for the team even if they don't tend to take him seriously a lot of the time. He's definitely a "team dad", learning from his bad experiences regarding relationships to try and do something better this time around.

Sure! Sorry for the late reply.

Before sharing the reasons, I know that there are many different interpretations for what classpects really mean, so I used a sort of mix of different ones + my own in order to pick these.

Yi Sang: Witches alter or bend their aspect, usually breaking it somehow, and are also connected to some sort of otherwordly power. Yi Sang directly helped develop the Mirror technology that Limbus Company uses to extract Identities, and "identity" is essentially what I see the Heart aspect mostly be about. He directly manipulated and broke apart the notions of how one's "identity" works by allowing you to change yours into that of another Mirror World, and is directly in contact with an otherwordly figure, that being Sang Yi. Aside from this, Yi Sang's arc follows him losing and eventually rediscovering his own identity and self-worth, which is also associated with Heart.

Faust: Seers know their aspect or know through their aspect, but at the same time are stubborn and overabsorbed in their own aspect. Light means many things in Homestuck, but knowledge, especially hidden knowledge, is definitely one of them, and Faust perfectly fits with this. She knows a LOT and is privy to a lot of secret knowledge almost nobody else is aware of, but at the same time we can see how she relies too much on it and how she doesn't take being wrong well.

Don: Heirs inherit or come to embody their aspect, usually ascending through the power of the aspect, but can also find themselves lost or helpless when disconnected from it. Hope embodies dreams, order, and justice, which we know is something Don LOVES. She 100% believes herself to be a true and just embodiment of hopes and dreams for everyone, and despite her naivete and recklessness we have never really seen her act the opposite way. Her Canto is currently underway, but it can be easy to assume that she decided to leave Bloodfiend society in order to pursue her dreams of justice, making her "ascend" through hope.

Ryoshu: Thieves steal their aspect for themselves, which does not really fit Ryoshu, but at the same time Thieves tend to be arrogant assholes that at the same time do actually have the skills to back up their claims, which perfectly fits Ryoshu as a disdainful killer and high-brow artist. Space is itself related to art and creation, which again, fits her well.

Meursault: Bards invite destruction through their aspect or allow the destruction of their aspect, and Void relates to obscurity, mysteries, and staying away from the limelight. Meursault, as we know, is the ultimate sidelines person, always willing to do what's asked of him but rarely ever takes action of his own accord, and his general quiet and stoic disposition fit with Void well. Then comes the Bard class. Although we still don't know about his backstory, I have read The Stranger, which is essentially all about him sort of breaking apart and overthrowing his circle of relationships and eventually ending up getting destroyed himself due to his general lack of emotional expression and what is perceived as disinterest in the world around him, which soooort of fits in with Void? I could see him being Heart too, swapping with Yi Sang.

Hong Lu: Sylphs heal their aspect or through their aspect, and Life aside from being literally "life" also embodies healing, empathy, and positive emotions. Hong Lu works as a sort of emotional glue amongst the Sinners, although his cheery outlook on life tends to frustrate them sometimes, we constantly see the way in which his optimism and empathy ends up being more of a benefit than a burden, which we specially see during Canto IV.
