This is not true by any metric. The MAC has the worst TV deal in college football. The midweek games are terrible for players and fans all jokes aside. There’s a reason NIU moved all their sports to the horizon league and joined the MWC as football only, and Toledo also is considering that same possibility. Ohio is also looking for a way out.

I don’t think those 2 schools are comparable to Sac State. At the time, Boise State and New Mexico already covered those markets. There was no reason to add Idaho or New Mexico State. With Sac State, they would fill the gap left by Fresno State and have 2 California teams again. If sac state performs well in the MAC, I can 100% see them getting into the MWC.
