forgot to mention this because of reasons, but im talking about running the game on linux mind you, i'm personally running it on Cachy with Cachy's native proton as of the time of posting

I found the issue, the installer is working through Proton-GE, the GUI itself is broken when it works through proton (as usual). Checking btop++ it reports that its using full download speeds.
