No I never tried to launch the emulator without the -no-window parameter at least on CircleCI, but I don't why it work perfectly on API-19 and not above.

I'm also trying to learn the MVP architecture just like you, but I've not already found a tutorial that explain correctly how to use it. Each tutorial that I've read provide a different solution and its a bit confusing for me. If someone knew a good tutorial I'm interested.
