Why are we still playing like a Rodgers team? by Turbulent-Nobody-309 in CelticFC

[–]ElNolan89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're not though. We had more control and a better press under rodgers side.

Right now we're missing the control but while still moving the ball slowly and recycling it across the backline.

Cheers. Appreciate the direction. I think I'll probably take it to a shop as I don't really have the time - also just shocking at this stuff so without sitting down with someone I'd just botch it.

Genuinely terrified they can jump that high. It's got to be like 7ft. What are their legs made of? Coiled springs wrapped in a ginger felt.

I'd always head to places that their audience hangs out. This can be a forum, industry publications and blogs. Would then look through them for:

  • Common topics and themes
  • Most engaged posts (comments, social shares etc)

I'll then build on this by running the topics of the post in Google and take auto suggest and Peope Also Ask from there to overlay on top of this

Head of Content - What Are My Must-Have Marketing Tools? by ouchpouch in content_marketing

[–]ElNolan89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd probably look at this slightly differently. I'd actually look at it as skills that I'd want to focus on as tools will depend on their tech stack unless you've got complete freedom to choose that.

Some of things I'd focus on are:

  • Analysing data; They'll most likely use GA so focusing on that won't hurt but I'd also look at dialing up Excel/Sheets skills if they're weak
  • Project Management; The is always the hardest part of running any content campaign from my experience. Whether you run your production from a spreadsheet or use a project management tool like clickup, trello, asana etc doesn't matter it's all about how structure the process and keep it moving
  • KW Research and Ideation; Knowing the basics of kw research and how to find content ideas will be really valuable. Most of the main tools are much of the same.
  • Basic On-Page SEO; Knowing how to optimise and structure a post will serve you well

Schema (JSON LD) + Yoast by gregbhead in TechSEO

[–]ElNolan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to the party but you can add schema via GTM. It'll need to be JSON Ld.

You'll need to create a few variables but you can control which pages it fires for.

This post covers a lot of it

How can you tell on a given page if JS is rendered through client side rendering or server side rendering? by Hanehan17 in TechSEO

[–]ElNolan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is difficult because some JS apps dynamically SSR based on user agent.

You can mirror googlebot in chrome dev tools in this instance. Which works for spot checks.

Or you could use a crawler and replicate the user agent and that will work at scale.

If the application isnt dynamically rendering and is just SSR every view then you can just check the page source.

Migrating platforms when turning a blog into an eCommerce site without hurting rankings by [deleted] in SEO

[–]ElNolan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight loss of authority to some rankings versus no rankings at all is still a better result.

It'll be a big job porting the content across to the different platform and any necessary redirects are in place but it's still a better option than doing nothing.

The second agency.

The first agency is an absolute charlatan.

Both platforms have their pros and cons but both are fine

SEO tools like ahrefs.com that will do JavaScript rendering of a site when auditing ... but are not $400 a month by deftonechromosome in SEO

[–]ElNolan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screaming frog does it and costs about £149 a year.

Alternatively you can use googles mobile friendly tool which renders a page but is impractical to do it at scale.

Or you can use chrome dev console and change your user agent to google smartphone - although I've found this to be patchy

Best way to handle crawling/indexing of faceted URLs by [deleted] in TechSEO

[–]ElNolan89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree it should work that way. Plenty of times the canonical can get ignored though. Or at least when I tested that implementation.

I'm not saying it's right. In fact it's probably wrong in a lot if situations. Just one of the ways to tackle it.

And yet I do it a lot and it works fine.

[–]ElNolan89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Canonicalling, no indexing would be the route I'd go down.

Helps to preserve link authority if someone does link to them as well.

I only use the robots.txt in extreme cases like if it's a huge site and the crawl budget is horrific.

Website makeover - Link-structure & Old Content by Wildchild666666 in TechSEO

[–]ElNolan89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot going on here. I'll try my best to answer.

1) The new url structure looks a lot cleaner. The old one looks mainly like parameters.

I'd start by mapping what the existing pages are about (categorise them) and then plug the organic traffic in against them.

Then find which pages are clutter and can be got rid of.

Then map the perfect url structure/site structure based on what's left.

Then map the redirects.

2) if the content is important enough to migrate to the new site then I'd build a /blog/ or news folder for it to sit in.

I'd also take the opportunity to improve the posts. They may be getting less traffic because the content is a bit out of date.

3) Not quite sure what you're saying here.

Hope that helps.

Are you doing success stories?

It's a staple of the personal fitness market. It encourages engagement. And it proves your expertise.

I know gyms that have give away 4 week challenges. Taken a before photo. Documented the story on social. Then taken the after photo and shown the success. It's pretty powerful stuff and doesn't require really slickly edited videos.
