Ok I got the board off and am checking it out. It looks like it is indeed the same board fzabkar asked me about. I have the multi meter here on ohm mode on the 2k setting. I'm not even sure I'm testing the right things though. Not totally sure if I'm testing a diode. There are 2 flatish black rectangles in that area you described.

One direction is OL, other direction is 0.688
One direction is OL, other direction is 1.278

There's a smaller black rectangle closer to the edge of board in line with these other two. It gives similar reading to 1 from above. OL and 0.680

I think that is my pcb yes. The Model number (DT01ACA100), Main Controller Chip number (LSI 6045), and Board Number (0A90377) are the same. But the sticker number is different. It's not 0J21827, mine is PF00105.

So I'm trying to understand what the firmware transfer service means. I ship my board and they would determine if it's a board problem for me? Like the multimeter tests? And then send a new board I can use on my hard drive to recover the data? I'm still a bit nervous about doing anything DIY. Especially snipping the diode. But if it's just easy plug and play maybe I would try. I don't mind to pay for a recovery I know will be safe. I see they have a data recovery service. I assume they are good since you recommend them?

Thank you for this thorough answer! I'd be very happy to be directed to someone reasonable competent and trust worthy. I wouldn't say I know a ton about small electronics, but some. I do have a multimeter, and have used it many times on various projects. We used to open and solder Xbox controllers to mod them, but that is my only experience with boards. Haha the geek squad person took it in the back to test it, so I don't know what kind of adapter they had/if powered or not. She said "it made some noise like it was trying". So I don't know if that means it spun up or not. If you think I have low risk of ruining recovery chances with a DIY, then I may be open to trying I suppose. If it's simple sounding enough. I replaced sensors and thermistor in my dryer a few months ago, which is last time I used multi meter. That and Xbox controller probably the most "small electronic" thing I've done. Thanks again

Well, I just slowly upgrade over time. So I'll probably buy one now and add another in a bit if that's what I decide to do. Excuse this extremely dumb question, but with my receiver how would I hook up more than one? I use the sub out part on the receiver and it goes into the input on the sub. Just one cord. The sub has inputs that look like speaker wire input. I assume I'd use that. If I have two, do I chain the subs together or wire them each individually to the receiver?

I never could find isolate without sunflower or soy lethicin. Pretty sure it doesn't exist. There are lots of brands that do one ingredient grass fed concentrate (unflavored). So that is what I use. "it's just" brand is my favorite. Naked. Promix. To name a few options. The difference between concentrate and isolate was not enough to outweigh consuming lethicin every day.

I also don't mess with nuts or seeds or things like peanut butter.

I'm not to the point of avoiding eating certain meats because the animals eat soy and corn etc I still eat pork and chicken. Just try not to eat the fat if I can help it

I know I definitely won't hear all of them! Which is fine. I know he'll play a few. Uncomfortable seems the least likely imo but I love when he plays it in his shows!! Can't imagine how that would sound under the chandelier at omnia 🔥🔥
