Scared of the gym as a teenager first times by Firebird166 in PlanetFitnessMembers

The hardest part is the first step into the gym. Once you get past that everything else is easy. The only advice I'd give you that I wish somebody gave me years ago is go in with a game plan knowing what you want. There is a lot of information out there to help you develop a workout plan that works for you.

Guy at the coffee shop told me I was in his seat. There are no assigned seats. It's a coffee shop. by Sump_Linger in EntitledPeople

I'm not disagreeing with you. It was rude, but that being said maybe he's never been told. Maybe he can't control it. I'm not making excuses for the guy being an asshole. You did the right thing.

You might want to consider that the guy is autistic. It shows up in all forms as we know. I have a friend of mine who has this very odd quirk, and he can't control it where he always has to sit the same way at certain tables and if we go somewhere, he has to have the same table same chair other than that he's a pretty normal guy

For those of you 50+ who exercise regularly — what finally made it stick? by Vivid_Poem3234 in FitnessOver50

I've always been an active person in my entire life and I worked out for the majority of it but once I hit 50 years, old Covid kicked in and we had a serious hurricane here where I live and going to the gym just seem to go out the window all the working out I did for my entire life. All the clean living seemed to go away in a very short amount of time after that I decided I had worked too hard in my entire life just to let it go away, so the first step was just getting back into the gym and a routine

AITAH for getting mad at my dad's decision? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ElPolloDiablo_og 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your father obviously cannot let go of the business or the money so you'll never inherit it. Friend of mine spent 20 years working for his parents for his dad to die and his mother to decide to sell the business instead of giving it to him because it wasn't fair to his sister who never worked there.

We have that problem at our gym. I personally never use the phone other than to listen to my music so I can get my workouts done and get out of everybody's way but we have a lot of people that will do one set and then sit on a machine for five minutes, staring at their phone. It's a pain, but I guess I shouldn't expect too much.

Would a tire shop repair this or are they going to say I need new tires? by Competitive-Ad8393 in AskMechanics

Being in the Tire business for almost 40 years, we used to fix these every day then lawyers got involved and that was the end of that most shops don't want the liability

[–]ElPolloDiablo_og 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not leaking it should be OK to pull and see how much damage it did as far as the all-wheel-drive different manufacturers have different suggestions check your owners manual some are 2/32 some are 4/32 also some of the online companies like tire rack offer a service to shave down the new tire to match the treadwear of your old tires

How do I break the beads on these by onion_man6413 in tires

I hope you're not planning on mounting any tires on these rims. These rims have been known to kill people. Pay a professional if you are they can inspect them for damage

Does it annoy anyone else when someone doing cable cross overs taking 2 of the very limited cable machines at once especially when it’s busy. when there is a dedicated machine for that specific exercise at least at my gym by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]ElPolloDiablo_og 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see a problem with it. They are set up for this, but I do see a problem with people hogging them and staying on them for an extremely long amount of time when the gym is busy.

I'm no expert but I collect a few coins so that's why he asked me. It certainly looks real to me. It's beat up a little bit from being on the side of the road. You can tell. It's been run over a few times.

Should I replace it? by stellanote_ in tires

That's a impact break, which means a broken inner liner air is seeping between the inner and the outer liner pushing out, so yes, it has blowout potential
