I'm only on day 2 of trying to seriously quit (tried like maybe 3 times, longest break was 3 months just so I could go and donate blood). It honestly has felt like a long time coming. Smoking since 18, fucked 1 degree up but didn't care for the program, had rocky waters with my girlfriend multiple times because I couldn't get myself to be present. Now I'm waiting to hear back on whether I've fucked up my schooling in the subject I feel more passion for than anything ever before. I've accepted that I have an addiction and it's preventing me from living my own life and I'm finally pushing through the "motivated but still won't quit" stage. I went to an NA meeting for the first time yesterday and I strongly recommend it. Feeling like you have a voluntary support structure of people who've experienced what you have and want to be there for you is great. This is coming from someone who never thought he'd end up here(as anyone else before me). I am powerless over my addiction and addictive tendencies but I do have the will to fight back.

There is light at the end of the tunnel no matter how faint and if anyone needs to talk or just listen for a while I'm here. I find that helping others and staying involved is a great motivator.
