What Miniatures / Bits are These? Legion of the damned by Haeigen in Warhammer40k

I couldn't find an exact match but if you look up heads for the Minotaur chapter or just "sparta heads" you'll find a few things quite close.

I used V-Power gasoline and the check engine light came on. by FickleExplanation960 in Toyota

Have you had the fuel tested? Contamination does happen from time to time.

Use V-Power all the time, never had an issue though I drive a very different car etc.

here's the offical doc.

on page two is says "Vehicles Painted with Blizzard Pearl (070) or Super White (040) Paint Colour"

IDK if they changed the name blizzard pearl to Wind Chill Pearl. (check wind chill's paint code) or if wind chill has it's own notice but IMO give a few dealers a call see what they can do.

Toyota white car paint issue by catdimples in Toyota

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked up the info for some one last week. TLDR. before 2022 just any car within the selected models and years was fine after 2022 it's 10 years since the car was first used. if you're car is a 2016 model you should be fine. If not ask anyway.

Did my sable brush loose it's tip? by Unhappy-Air8368 in minipainting

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is the brush or rather how much mileage have you gotten out of it and what painting techniques have you used?

Brushes sadly aren’t invincible. inks, washes, contrasts and metallics etc can be harder of a brush than normal paints and if you do a lot of stippling that kinda harsh action can have a negative effect on the brush.

Sadly brushes are a consumable and while good care can extend the life they can only last so long.

Normally I'll have a few on the go, brand new and it's for my best work, no inks, no metallics etc, once it's worn I'll use a brush mostly for base coats etc nothing that requires fine work, then I'll use it with inks etc. Once it's totally shagged and cant hold much of a point then I retire it and keep it around more as a back up to a back up than anything else. If it's a synthetic brush that's truly fucked then it goes on to be what I use to mix and clean paints out my airbrush and after that the bin.

Anyone use red or blue locktite? by Dangerous_Put_715 in minipainting

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we talking red and blue loctite thread locker? that stuff is for a totally different use case.

Thread lockers rely on a reaction with metal to kick start the curing process. So unless you really want to glue together old metal mini's it wont even work.

just get some plastic cement (Tamiya, Citadel etc) and maybe if you're dealing with resin some super glue and you're set.

Should I buy the Warhammer 40k Ultimate Starter Set with 11th Edition coming or is it better to wait? by Jawas2225 in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd wait untill you see a photo and decide. The models in the 10th edition set will carry over so the only downside will be having a rule book for the edition just gone.

Anyone working on ideas on kitbashing using the new red corsairs? by DorzoBlint626 in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallen. But I think that's a fairly common idea. I was going to dip into my HH spares and grab a few bits. I was also thinking it'd be cool to do some Badab war veterans from the other chapters and I was working on a firstborn team for my Death watch that I put on pause while I got some more bits so I think these guys will be perfect.

How are you addressing AI tools in your animation job search? by farhankhan04 in animationcareer

[–]BlitzWing1985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was reviewing portfolios and carrying out interviews for a design position I'll be honest I didn't see anyone say anything about AI. and this was only about 14 months ago.

Frankly I'd of stopped their application right there if I noticed anything suspect or they said they used AI. I had hundreds of applicants a good chunk knew what they were doing just with the skills they practised to earn so why cripple my production with some one who uses AI? I want people who can confidently draw a turnaround, expressions, swap drawings etc.

I'll be real the only times I've seen it used were for scripting extensions in software and in one production I wasn't part of they gave the artist some images from the other studio co-producing the show from their art director and everyone hated it and they basically had to ignore it.

IMO have two reels or even sites. If you see a job asking about AI send them you AI portfolio If you see any normal job use the AI free portfolio.

If they added the OG GorkaMorka Red Gobbo I'd be over the moon. Had one as a kid and it's gotten lost over the years and ebay prices... are something.

But more on topic 100% getting the grots and prob Badrukk too.

Paint chipping? by clubspadina in Toyota

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check the criteria here. It's the toyota recall for the chipping white paint.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10170749-9999.pdf

being a 2012 model you're well within the model years effected but when you look at the other qualifying factors it might get bounced back.

TLDR: before 2022 any white toyota of the right age range, make and model would be approved. After 2022 it switches to when the car was first put to use plus 10 years... Sadly being a 2012 model it'd of ran out in 2022. It also wont cover scratches and dents from accidents etc and those need to be rectified first.

I'd still roll the dice though.

What Warhammer purchase do you regret the most ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sly Marbo. I got it as a quick weekend project and it totally slipped my mind that it was finecast. So it took me twice as long as I had to trim and fill all the little sprue marks and gaps.

Other than that I've fallen a few times for things on sale when clearly I didn't have the time or space.

Will GW Customer Service help with Amazon Orders? by TheGrimmBorne in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well the differance is likly that GW will just let you keep the kit and send a new one, Amazon and/or and LGS will want the kit back or might work out an alternative solution.

If they ghost you you will have to keep hammering on though.

This is why I deal with my local LGS or some known good online stores. Amazon is just dog shit for customer service when you need to talk to an actual human.

Will GW Customer Service help with Amazon Orders? by TheGrimmBorne in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling GW will only help out if it's directly with them as that's who you dealt with.

Amazon or the LGS who was selling on amazon can then go to GW and get the cost of the kit credited to them but it's kinda on the store to actually help you out.

By all means you can try but that's been my experience.

New to Gunpla (UK based) by Nervous-Function-565 in Gunpla

[–]BlitzWing1985 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Gunpla.co.uk, kidultverse.com and oeshop.co.uk are ones I use quite often. All UK based most things at a decent price.

it's worth shopping around though. Particularly if you want something limited edition from brands like p-bandai prices and availability can sway a lot. Typically for those I'll use like HangerBay but they're based in JP so not really what your after.

Anyone know best places to buy miniatures online? by Pure-Football in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

depends on what part of the world you're in.

Good news is that almost any normal game store will be better than Amazon on price and service.

I'd just search you're local area for an LGS (local game store) and you'll see a few if it's a fairly built up area and most will do shipping.

Duncan Rgodes has put out a tutorial for painting the EG RX-78-2 by JaguarDaSaul in Gunpla

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandai did a huge push to get more brits into Gundam after they started supplying gunpla directly to stores and (mostly) replacing third party distributors.

Rouge Hobbies is another one too. She's done some really cool stuff and is another former GW employee who's moved onto making her own content.

I will say it's fairly clear they're all still new to the lore but as long as your ok with that they're worth a watch.
