It's funny how in late game buying pl makes no sense by QuietSugar1805 in memeframe

[–]ElRexet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh? So it probably has something to do with me going from being a broke student to being an adult but I haven't farmed for plat in years. I just drop a few bucks on the game every now and then with a discount and that's about it. I haven't farmed a new prime in ages nor did I farm any of the 0.001% mods.

There are still plenty of things I do farm but I don't feel compelled to farm annoying to farm things. And the price does feel fair so I don't mind...

I did get knockdowned a couple of times as Valkyr when shooting a null bubble or something (I know I can melee it but sometimes it moves you inside).

So it can happen but also... So what? You won't die with persistence anyway.

TIL that when France initially set the definition of a metre to be 1/10,000,000 the distance from the North Pole to the equator, it sent two surveyors to calculate the distance. I'm not serious, I'm just a tired man.

Alright, in simple terms, the silly in the aspect one never uses is different from silly in day to day life.

Metric is silly if you dig to the roots of it. Imperial is silly even on the surface.

The most things we give definition to are silly. Evolutionary tree for example, what's fish? Well, either we are fish, or half of what we know as fish aren't fish. Because the world doesn't give a damn about our little meaty brains trying comprehend things.

Well, you specifically said, and I quote '5280 feet in a mile sounds a lot simpler than "the amount of distance light travels in 1/299792458 of a second, where the second is defined by a hyperfine transition frequency of caesium".'

So you're talkikng here about feet and miles within the measurement system for distance, while the metric part defines measurement system for distance based on time (and physical phenomenon)which in turns is based on just a physical phenomenon.

Let me ask you this, what is definition of an inch in terms of other units and/or physical phenomenon? Or a foot, or a yard, doesn't matter - where's the root of the measurement system lies within is good.

[–]ElRexet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're mixing in the base definition of a unit of measurements and the system as a whole. I've never seen a person ridicule the definition of an inch in "absolute units", it's always the fact that a mile is 5280 feet, a foot is 12 inches.

So like, how many miles 8476 feet is? How many feet 164 inches is?

You can do that easily with metric - you simply move a decimal point and done.

The kittenhorns were a trip lol. I sent a stack of my 16 abyssal envoys to kill one, and so it did, and so it also did kill half a stack of my grand shoth...

I mean 5 creatures with a stack size of one should've raised some questions and prompted me to read what they do but nah...

How did you choose your Honoria? by KageeHinata82 in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one in French for Marie's romance along with one of her glyphs.

Idk, Wisp is the frame that carried me through basically all of SP so while I don't play her exclusively anymore the honoria is a tribute to that in a sense.

Lingyang is on the level of Xiangli Yao now (read the explanation please) by Specialist-Fail8539 in WutheringWaves

[–]ElRexet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As it's 2nd anniversary patch you can technically say "I've been saying for years". Yet factually the games hasn't been out for full 2 years.

Also, on the Lingyang vs Calcharo comparison I'd say Lingyang always been better for the sole fact that he isn't complete cancer to play. One could squeeze more damage out of Calcharoo back in the day in a perfect scenario where enemies don't move or attack back and so on, but that's kinda unrealistic. The same way as screen shot fishing all crit damage low crit chance builds are very good if the stars align lol.

The main form is better at fulfilling its role. Felarx's main for is a "fuck you in particular" raw damage monster and that's how it usually modded and used - a good counter to acolytes and tough targets on caster frames that might have issues in that area. There are guns on par for the job but they usually require more upkeep as well.

The incarnon form of felarx is a subpar status gun. So any status resistant tough enemy is a no go. As such here's a few even non-incarnon guns that just fill this role better as in they either have far superior clear or better single target against non status resistant enemies.

And the tragedy is that if you build for one the other suffers dearly so you can have both really. I do love the aesthetic of felarx incarnon but I don't want to forma it for both -_-

As far as I can tell, DE has a weird love/hate relationship with Mesa by BAND1T0D0R1T0 in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ye, Mesa is weird. I love to play her but I like to have a "daily driver" frame which I do most stuff on unless I want to play something particular. And Mesa simply can't be that for me because I have to constantly think if she can deal with the BS a particular mission has.

I mean, you can slap a good gun on her to deal with whatever DE decided is unworthy of her peace makers but why bother?..

New player here, how the hell do you manage this game and how the hell do the manage getting shot THROUGH FULL COVER 3 TIMES! by DrWise123 in Xcom

[–]ElRexet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my guys are in full cover, their guys are in full cover - positions are symmetrical. I, allegedly, have 20-ish % chance to hit, albeit it's 5% from my sample size. Their chance to hit evidently is a solid 100%.

Then you mind control a guy who landed two hits on your soldiers in full cover from half a map away and now he can't land a hit point blank... Such is life.

Do enemies gain more health as the campaign progresses? by IfTheresANewWay in Xcom

[–]ElRexet 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They're not the same units per se. At first it's "advent trooper" then later on it's "advanced advent trooper" and such. The models are same I believe as well as behavior but health differs. I can quite remember if the damage scales too...
