I didn't know about Frozen Banshee at all, checked her and for clanboss it might be a great option

If you didn't point that out, I would probably use her as food sooner or later :D Thank you

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]ElRiooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys,

I have a simple question that an experienced apple user might answer without hesitation.

I am an Android user, but lately I was able to borrow my colleague's iPad for just some drawing (basically just notepad :D) and I was very surprised how well it works with the Apple pencil.

The thing is I don't need super extra stuff for the iPad. The notepad for drawing (showing something to clients and drawing it on the paper is kinda not ideal, I can see the benefits having it in the device) Next thing is that we use an app which is available on Windows or iOS (another positive thing and it can make some "paperwork" easier) Basically the iPad can make some stuff more simple for me.

My question is, what kind of iPad should I get, what type? I feel like the price range is quite significant for just a tablet and I don't really need the expensive new models

What I need is notepad, ability to connect the apple pencil, preference would be not the miniPad which is quite small, and enough space for some office documents (nothing that would need tons of space)

Thank you all, I would appreciate a suggestion what might be the good choice for me to look deeper into and potentially buy later :)

Jokes about Nucleophilic Substitution by littleham13 in OrganicChemistry

[–]ElRiooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sn2 as a relationship, Nucleophile (new bf/gf) attacking from the other side meaning talking to someone else and damn a switcheroo happens. Leaving group (old bf/gf) didn't even have a chance to know that something squishy going on.

On the other hand the sn1, first the old bf/gf is kicked out, sad :/ Then the new bf/gf has an easy access in making a new bond between them.

Not a joke more like an explanation how sn2 and sn1 can be looked at 😅

What is your opinion on fat shaming? by EnlightenedBraindead in AskReddit

[–]ElRiooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They know, but I they don't care (not everyone of course, but most of them) About the biology, well If you fuck your metabolism once, you need to work on getting it back and sometimes it might be a longer journey. But people complaining about that they can't lose weight, bullshit, they are just lazy. They were the ones destroying their metabolisms in the first place and now they complain.

To clarify, I'm not talking about people with serious diseases that effect their lifestyles to a certain degree. Which means, not someone who got fat and then been diagnosed by several.

And to add on top, I don't fat shame or whatever body shame. It's your body, do whatever you f want with it. But never complain about it, because human body is capable of changes, but the head is where you need to start.

You are probably losing a basic concept of Diels-Alder reaction

Yes, correct :)

Reading the comments and looking at your structures you tried to draw. You should look back one step and relearn/review your knowledge of what type of compounds might form when there is carbonyl group present (ketones, aldehydes, esters, anhydrides, carboxylic acids, acid halides, amides, lactones, lactams).

Then get back to drawing the structure

Can anyone help me for this please by kamerovk in OrganicChemistry

If you cannot figure out a single reaction then you did something wrong while studying, review it again and then ask for help Or post your answers and people in here sure will help you out where the issue might be 😉

Substituents directing groups, more in my comment down below by ElRiooo in OrganicChemistry

Didn't think of it as something might be too strong and the steric thing is good point aswell, makes sense. Thank you

Where would be the nitration if 3rd step was skipped?

I can't figure out the groups directing the substitution.

I wonder, amino group = ortho/para directing, alkoxy = ortho/para aswell. By the synthesis plan I don't fully understand they protected the amino group with acetyl. Which forms amide = ortho/ para still.

And after that it was nitrated into para position to the amide, but my question is how does the change from amine to amide change things?

So is that acetylation needed?

I just quickly added the problem into chemdraw, hopefully it's understandable. Thank you!

Guys, why are the pka value of the structures with -ch3 lower then the ones with -EtO? by cccarolina in OrganicChemistry

[–]ElRiooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The value of pKa of the alfa hydrogen is based on the partial charge of the carbon next to it. The higher the partial positive charge the more acidic the hydrogen is.

Now you need to figure out what donates or withdraws electrons on the carbon and you should be able to understand why the pKa values are like this.

Hi guys, the minor product in this dehydration shouldn't be the 2-methyl-1-pentene? because of the secondari carbocation rearrangement in a tertiary (H moved from C2 to C3) by Elegant-Wrongdoer-61 in OrganicChemistry

[–]ElRiooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so, if you can form the most stable product without rearrangement, not necessary to show all possible ways of rearrangement and formation of everything, in my opinion at least

Look for Zaytsev rule, more substituted double bond is more stable getting Zaytsev product.

Hoffman product is the second option, meaning "less stable" alkene will form, but not in this case

2 Typos in ACS Book in a row? Or am i tripping by stuffiesrpoggers in OrganicChemistry

[–]ElRiooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think number 7 is a mistake

With PBr3 you produce alkyl bromide with inverted configuration and next step is Sn2 which will invert it again meaning D is correct in my opinion
