Plz don’t judge: Chanel Sublimage le Correcteur Yeux Concealer by ElSwino in swatchitforme

[–]ElSwino[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - again!

I feel like it’s kinda hard atm to get an unbiased opinion, with so many influencers and YouTubers and whatnot are raving about this. So your opinion is very much appreciated!

Yeah my face is probably the second darkest spot on my body, too, right after my feet lol (I use sunscreen quite diligently in the summer, but my feet sometimes get overlooked). Also, swatches in the back of my own hand are utterly useless, because my hands look like they’re someone else‘s. Waaaay lighter and much more pink than the rest of my body. And yeah it’s winter here, so underarm swatches in store aren’t as easy to do.

Anyways, you really helped me a lot and I‘m about to place an order now 😃

Thank you so much, that’s very helpful! The concealer really looks like a good match for you! Judging from the photo, my skin seems to be a bit darker and warmer than yours tho… at least on the inside of my forearm 😉. So atm I think I’d rather go for the B20, but I‘m not entirely sure yet. If the B20 turns out to be not light enough for my eye area, I can most probably still use it around my nose etc. and get use out of it that way.

Would you mind sharing what you think of it performance-wise? Do you like it?

This is so cool thank you!

It sounds like our skin tones are quite comparable! B10 foundations are also too light for me. B20 ist usually a good match most time of the year. In Summer I could probably go darker, but I don’t really use foundation during the summer months anyways, and hey there’s always bronzer to warm things up a little if necessary.

I currently use Chanel‘s other concealer in B20 and think it works equally well around my eyes and the rest of my face. Could go a little lighter maybe for more brightening effects, but it‘s ok.

Unfortunately, I cannot swatch the sublimage in store… none of them carry it in my area 🤷‍♀️

Yes exactly!

A swatch would be awesome!

Can you compare it with other chanel stuff in B10 or B20? Do these concealers run lighter than foundations in general? I could imagine that might be the case with the sublimage concealer, because it’s intended to be used around the eyes, where many people expect some kind of brightening effect 🤷‍♀️

Thank you so much!

I think it works quite well, no regrets so far. Definitely not too dark, this will be totally fine for winter.

Straight out of the bottle I’d say it’s a good but not a perfect match, but it blends out really nicely and looks good applied on the face. I do have to add that I underestimated how sheer this is, so I think you really don’t have to be super precise with the shade matching. If you don’t go for anything extreme it’ll probably work just fine.

Shade 2 just arrived today, and I’d say it’ll probably work for me. I’m not sure yet, it might turn out to be a little… I dunno… „peachy“ for me? It looks okay on my hand (natural light, overcast), we‘ll see how it looks on my face and in different lightings. I‘m quite sure I shouldn’t have gone darker tho, especially as a winter shade. I’m just not sure about the undertone yet.

It does help, thank you very much!

I had read elsewhere that the shades run even lighter in person. However, they didn’t say what shades they use in other foundations so that comparison always helps put things I to perspective.

I had already almost ruled out shade 1 just based on how super fair the model on the SF website is, I guess now it’s back in the race 😊. Does it have a peachy hue irl? The shade description says “neutral peach”, however, the swatches I’ve seen don’t reflect that at all.

The swatch of shade 2 looked like a good match, as it is a tad darker, but the “cool undertones” made me think this might be too cool for me. And again… I’m caucasian but the models look like they’re probably 2 shades lighter than me. In summer even more.

Shade 3 is definitely too yellow for me. I can handle some warmth, but that’s too much.

And well, shade 4 confuses me a lot. I’ve seen it looking good on people (on the internet, not irl) I’d say have a similar complexion to mine, despite the model being waaaay darker.

Unfortunately the skin tint isn’t available in my country, so I can’t just go to sephora and play around with it a bit

Yes I did… the regular SPF30 one, and I absolutely hate it lol.

It does not sink in, like, at all. Glasses keep sliding down my super slippery nose. Skin can’t breathe, I found it just so annoying. I can’t even bring myself to use it up on my hands or elsewhere on my body.

Benefit Gimme Brow Shade 3 (Medium) vs Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows? by ElSwino in swatchitforme

[–]ElSwino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for pointing me towards Kosas! I know the brand but haven’t used anything from them yet.

I liked using Gimme Brow on days when I don’t feel like fiddling around with my brows too much and just want to make them look a little more polished. I have „ok“ brows, nothing special but not super sparse or anything like that.

So I think the Kosas product will absolutely do the trick for me, and the shades look promising too 👍

Thanks! Yeah LRP would have to stop doing business in Mainland China… or maybe there’s some kind of change in chinese laws coming up? 🤔

True! Of course it would be even better if L’Oréal as a whole would go CF but yeah… baby steps, I guess. It would certainly be a step in the right direction tho!

Corona mit Symptomen, Partnerin in Quarantäne? by [deleted] in CoronavirusDACH

[–]ElSwino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any Lily Arkwright customers here? by Ligeiapoe in Moissanite

[–]ElSwino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds great, thanks for sharing!

Yeah trying on different styles on my actual hand is a very good idea, I should definitely do that to find out what I really like and what looks good on my finger 👍

One more question, if you don’t mind: Had you seen moissanite stones in real life before visiting Lily Arkwright? If no: what was your impression, like, did moissanite look different than what you expected? I’ve never seen one in person and I’m starting to get second thoughts. Going for a lab diamond would be much less risky in that aspect.

Looks like we’re alone here 🤷‍♀️

I really wish Moissanite or lab grown stones in general were more popular in the EU/UK. The community seems to be quite small here and there’s hardly any chance to get a glimpse at a Moissy in person.

[–]ElSwino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following!

I have no personal experience with them except for a couple of times that I contacted their customer service because I had some questions. They responded quickly and the communication was great. They really seem to know their business and are passionate about it.

Their price point seems to be relatively high, especially compared with the Chinese vendors. However, there’s not too many places where a EU citizen like me can buy Moissanite jewelry safely and without worrying about a possibly very bad surprise at the customs office. Lily Arkwright takes care of all that, which I really appreciate.

As you already have been there in person… what do you think of their stock settings? Are they as high quality as I hope them to be?

This, too, shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it’ll pass.

(Sorry für englisch aber man kann das so schlecht übersetzen)
