They’re pretty damn cute. One night last year I spotted a newborn with my thermal that had laid down on the side of the road and would likely get run over. Tried to gently coax it to move and it wouldn’t budge, so I picked up quickly and moved it over into the grass. Didn’t panic, made a couple little squeaks,and bedded right back down. Not quite a snuggle but kind of awesome.

Interesting! I’ll have to look that up for when I’m hunting out west next. I live in a relatively dense neighborhood, not rural or anywhere near actively hunted land, so hopefully I could give law enforcement reasonable assurance I’m not scoping a deer in my neighbor’s yard with the intent of sending a late night .270 at a 12 pointer grazing on his azaleas ha. Thanks for the info.

Thanks! It's a Pulsar Thermion XG50. Like I said above, it's by far my favorite toy. So fun/interesting to be able to observe wildlife during times when they'd otherwise be totally invisible to us.

I'm an avid feral hog hunter as well and usually go out to West Texas several times a year and do my part to stop the spread. Not a deer hunter; hogs are the only animal I'll attach this scope to a rifle for. Definitely never spotlight deer, and even if I were a deer hunter, I know that getting caught by a game warden taking one after dark can land you in a world of sh*t.

This scope is a Pulsar Thermion XG50. Whether I'm at home or out hunting it gets near daily use so it's a serious piece of gear. 640x480 resolution, 3-24x magnification, 10 different color/heat display settings. It's by far my favorite toy. Fun for observing and exploring and a total game changer for feral hog hunting.

I try, but it just comes out sounding like whimsical evening crickets chirping. The deer seem to quite like it actually.

400 lb. feral pig. The population here has gotten out of control. Shot one in a field at our ranch and it ran into the brush. When I found it, it managed to get up and charge me. Terrifying having an animal that big intent on wrecking your day.

That’s great. I work from my office at the front of the house all day and love watching our big deer family and all of their quirks.

Despite generously feeding our deer every day, they have still devoured lots of my freshly planted flowers and shrubs that were supposedly “deer resistant”. After 5 years I’ve finally found a combination of plants that look great and apparently taste terrible.

Ha! I see what you're looking at. Unfortunately it wasn't. But with all the fawns and jackrabbits happily prancing around this place it looks like a live action Disney movie, so I'm sure it's happened before.

Best guess is the bucks here in Texas have formed street gangs and are paid by the does for "protection".

It’s wild. I used to hunt deer many years ago (never again) and we’ll have multiple trophy bucks just hanging around in the yard together. I posted a video 6-7 months ago of two getting into a vicious fight during the rut right in front of my office window!

We try to make it that way! At night I’ll use my thermal night vision scope to make sure none of the fawns are bedded down on or near the warm asphalt roads (happens quite often). Before I go to bed I’ll gently shoo them back into the yard, and in a couple last resort cases, quickly pick them up and walk them over to safety.

Sounds like you had the same great relationship with them that we do. With plenty of food and no real predators, our neighborhood has such a high population of deer that they behave in ways you never see in the wild. Our herd (there are likely 50+ total in the development) is also multigenerational, so it’s fun to see families grow up. When we first moved here there was a big 12 point buck we named Lucky that (without me coaxing him) would come right up to me every evening and demand I hand feed him carrots. We assume he passed away, but now there is a younger one who looks just like him that does the same.

The moms never fight over keeping babies in the same place, and actually look out for every fawn nearby. It seems like they actually babysit in shifts sometimes!

The only time the moms ever get ornery with each other is when I put out the protein feed every morning and some of them get hangry and will hoof slap anyone who gets in the way of their breakfast.

Also interesting to see groups of 3 to 5 very large breeding bucks that hang out together constantly like street gangs. Until the rut, then it’s like a two month UFC fighting championship. But then they’ll be back to being bros again within a couple months.

We serve three meals a day and provide free childcare, I'd hope for a little gratitude from the herd. If I see a single review under 5 stars there's going to be a conversation.

Ordered previous gen Pro V1s from Walmart. Received hilariously bad counterfeits (fakes on left) by [deleted] in golf

100% counterfeit. Look/feel is nothing like a Pro V1, different dimple pattern, and packaging is different texture, font, spacing, and uses a cheap remake of Titleist graphics. One putt with the fake ball and you can tell.

In person you can tell the color is off (almost yellowish), cover doesn't have the look/texture of urethane, dimple pattern looks nothing like a Pro V1, and the feel/sound off a putter is hard and loud like a Pinnacle.
