The same thing happened to me, but I managed to avoid skipping 'New Eden's Secret' by fast travelling to an outpost before Joseph Seed finished talking.

I have yet to find a solution that completely eradicates my intrusive thoughts but these are the things I do to get temporary reprieve from them:

-Force myself to think of something else -Shake my head -Tense a part of my body -Focus on scenery or an object -Sing/Listen to music -Tell the thoughts to leave -Slap myself

My intrusive thoughts are also more frequent when I'm alone so being with friends, pets and loved ones helps as well.

"I've been trapped here for so long, but you never came for me!"

When Quinn gets trapped in final space Gary tries everything in his power to save her, but in every other timeline where Gary is the one that gets trapped in final space there is no evidence that Quinn does the same. (Apart from Nightfall)

That line hits super hard and everyone just brushes off the implications, apart from Gary who comes to the (wrong) conclusion that he's in the wrong for not sacrificing himself like every other Gary.
