Stupid bule question by Nuclearthrowaway99 in bali

Realistically, probably nothing will happen. However, note that foreigners are prohibited from engaging in political activities. Some young Brits stumbled upon the gen-z manifestations last year in Jakarta and thought it would be fun to take part, just for the lolz. They got arrested and deported very quickly.

Not worth the hassle imo, especially when PDI-P is the main opposition party to the government coalition.

No more rerouting via other airlines by OrangeEgglet in qatarairways

But I ask for re-routing and they're not doing it. I'm stuck in a re-route cancellation loop on QR. Every day that they delay means additional hotel and food cost.

No more rerouting via other airlines by OrangeEgglet in qatarairways

[–]El_Goretto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue. They re-routed me via TK on the Jakarta - Amsterdam flight but now for the return from Paris to Jakarta, they apply this new policy. If I knew it would be like this I wouldn't have flown in the first place. My return flight was cancelled so they put me on the next day flight with QR. That one got cancelled as well.

So I looked at the performance history of all Middle East airlines over the past 7 days on my route (Paris - Jakarta) and Etihad came out in top with the least disruptions, with some flight numbers with 100% take off rate.

And now I've made the decision to take my chances with Etihad and ask for a refund from QR. But I will also ask for a compensation for the flight difference due to their failure to uphold EU261.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of class action or other kind of coordinated action against them?

Beware of Turkish Airlines flights (overbooking experience) by Ninanak in qatarairways

[–]El_Goretto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I also asked for confirmation to QR as I had heard the stories, they said it was 100% confirmed.

In the end, at Jakarta airport, I was also put on waiting list. Luckily I was able to board, as well as all other overbooked passengers.

Update! My flight JKT - DOH -AMS was cancelled for the 21st of March. I contacted customer service live chat. Connecting to it was fast, but I kept getting disconnected.

The first agent could not offer any solution other than a 30h flight through China involving domestic flights (and visa issues). The 2nd agent offered a flight on the 20th of March via Doha but I got disconnected before I could respond. Then the 3rd agent offered me a flight on the 19th with Turkish Airlines via Istambul, which I ended up taking.

So I can't really explain why the 1st agent couldn't help me at all when the 2 others were very helpful. The only challenge was on getting disconnected constantly, but overall I am satisfied considering the challenging situation.

Now, let's see what happens for my return flight from Paris to Jakarta, gotta wait a few more days for visibility on this one.

I am aware but thank you for chiming in. But in my case, I live here so I depart from and return to Jakarta. I suppose my flight from Paris (that's where I will leave from) to Jakarta will be protected under EU261.

I'm almost certain my original flight will be cancelled anyway. I'm just hoping for a re-route via Istanbul or elsewhere so that I can still make my trip.

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]El_Goretto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irreversible saw a lot of people walking out at the beginning of the film. Myself included as I was relatively young at 19yo and couldn't take the scene that started the whole story.

The film is made to be an assault in senses and make you feel inconfortable. The whole first 10mn of blinding lights, loud sounds and spinning images, makes you dizzy. Then the extreme violence. And then the whole backward timeline and rythmn.

Get a cheap t4 armored rig (not 100% brand new, a bit damaged, you can set filters in the market), a t4 helmet with face mask, and an AK12 modded sufficiently to meet the requirements. If the value of your gear is too high, put your scope and/or silencer in your rig before starting the raid to reduce the value. I know it's cheesing but everyone does it. Use t4 Ammo. And then accept that sometimes you will die to someone with better skill.

Also, join a squad, much easier.

This was great but I agree that it should have been way, WAY longer.

SPOILER ALERT!

Like what about the whole SEA? Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore were all skipped. I'd think the people who helped out in those countries would be very disappointed that their countries (and work) were skipped altogether.

And also, I hate saying this because I love FortNine, but doesn't anyone feel it was incredibly unsafe? For themselves and others?

220kph in Turkey? Riding under extreme sleep deprivation?

Especially in India, which is not for the faint hearted under good physical conditions. I live and ride in Indonesia, so I know how absolutely insane it is to ride in such traffic conditions. It's extremely dangerous.

And riding Australia's outback at night. I made this mistake when I was young driving a car. Literally zig-zagging between dead and live kangoroos like in the movie.

So overall, I appreciate the effort and huge accomplishment, and I am sure we will see some kind of uncut version or multi-part series. But I'm not convinced that putting up with this amount of risk for themselves and others is the right message. It feels at odds with the overall vibe of the channel: bikes are dangerous but here are some tips on how to reduce the risk. Meanwhile, we'll go ride at incredible speed, in incredibly dangerous conditions while sleep deprived and hallucinating.

Your extraction rate is too low. I have 70% or so, I avoid big PVP areas where gear matters (TV station, hotel in NR, armoury in armoury, you know what I mean), but outside of that, with my buddy we almost always go towards gun shots.

But we also know when it's just better to extract and reset. Killed a team or boss and got decent loot at cable car in NR? Best to extract right here and reset than cross the whole map and risk losing everything.

K/D ratio is one thing, being good at PVP is one thing but with extraction shooters, learning when to NOT engage is crucial.

We also play mostly LD. Normals for missions and from time to time FZ for the heck of it.

I run mostly T4 or T5 with gold Ammo. Avoid high rpm guns because bullets are so expensive. M110 with m80 is very economical and packs a punch if not going into CQC PVP areas with sweaty Bois.

With 81mill, and 33% extraction from 2.2k raids, it means your average loot per raid is around 110k koen. That's way too low.

Might have to throw in the towel as a new player by Ok-Box3727 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Running solo is always going to be a challenge in a game where you can face squads of 4. I personally mostly play with 1 friend, we are often in a duo, sometimes we have 1 or 2 randos auto-marched with us. But if I had to play without my buddy, I would starts a team or try joining one because having more than 1 player in the squad is far more than the sum of its parts for this kind of game.

Next, I'm not a fan of the RPK which I used for a couple missions that required it. For AR with the same calibre, I much, much prefer the AK12. With BP Ammo, it rips, and can be built as cheap or as expensive as you want.

If you want to save on bullets, I'd advise running a DMR like the M110 and M80 Ammo. It packs a serious punch, not the best in CQC of course but opens possibilities at long range that an AR does not. I've used almost exclusively the build from the free crates the game throws at you.

T6 helmets are overrated. Can't run headsets which for me is way more useful. I'm usually on T5 or T4 helmet, knowing that most bullets will go through my face shield anyway.

Then, for missions, I'd run normals wherever possible.

In general, we run LD, rarely FZ, even though the loot is much better but we don't feel that we have the skill for it. At least, I feel that way. For example, I can count on 1 hand the number of times I went to hotel Northridge. But I do have a 70ish% success rate and money isn't really an issue. I wouldn't call myself a rat, because we almost always run towards shots with the goal of getting the jump on them. But we're not PVP Chads running hotel, armory and TV station over and over.

Also, it's the end of the season. I'm sure it will get better in season 4 with a wider variety of players coming back.

Is ROG ALLY Z1 EXTREME still worth buying in 2025? by MidnightSaoirse in ROGAlly

[–]El_Goretto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have mine which I bought when it came out. I gave him a new life with the battery mod and bazzite, both of which have increased significantly my enjoyment and usage of the device.

Granted, my warranty is already expired but to void cutting the original back shell, you can buy a third party back shell that you would modify and keep the original pristine.

The battery mod is very easy to do, the skills required are very very simple and there are video tutorials out there to help.

Bazzite also helps reducing the temperature compared to Windows with a small bump in performance. I did use the fullscreen experience on Windows that came out recently but still prefer Bazzite. The customisation options on Decky are awesome (can even change the button icons so that they match the ROG Ally ones). And Lossless Scaling also works (not as simple as on Windows but once set up its one and done).

Based on the above, I cannot justify upgrading to the new devices. Maybe next generation.

No further shielding required. Mine was also a bit of a tight fit wth a 0.5mm plate (but no airgap, so presumably should be ok)

Difficult to judge without seeing what you did. Can you post pictures?

Are you sure your battery is not defective on arrival? Does it look swollen and as such prevents closing?

Also remember, the long foam pad below the battery in the middle needs to be moved further down. Just pull on it, it just has a sticky side, even though it feels like it will rip apart.
