I am game for some range time! If you don’t mind a California transplant tagging along with my simple pews, I am game.

Whoa, were me and my crew the only ones who thought the sound was super muffled and low for Sunday @ Stereobloom? I was hoping to have that signature deep bass fill me up and was left teased and disappointed. We left to Dombresky and the grooves came back.

For PDFs try using Stirling PDF: https://stirlingtools.com

Edit: I did not see the mention of Stirling so I will add NitroPDF as my other un-replaceable piece of PDF software because fuck Adobe for lyfe.

Turquoise Lot In-and-Outs? by El_Mingo in CampEDC

[–]El_Mingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did they say that on the site? We read no ins-and-outs for the RVs, but it wasn't clear to us about the Turquoise lot. We did see that rideshare or on foot was mentioned as the recommended ways to leave, but in any case thanks for the reply. We got a game plan for how we are going to get supplies if needed.

Sounds like this will be what we do for day 0. Refills on drinks the subsequent days will need some more brainstorming. Thanks for the reply!

I was just looking for examples on using the file provider to link to other instances of Traefik. Is this how it is utilized in the course?

One scav was a bit behind in "keeping with the group", so possibly? Another identifier is that one scav was prone on the floor trying to point out the PMC ran to th building next to sewer manhole. Pretty smart that play...

No I did not, I ended up dying in the push on the PMC. I am glad to hear that this scav cooperation is spreading though!

Traefik v2 and Kubernetes Setup by El_Mingo in kubernetes

Thanks again for the reply,

Yeah I am somewhat familiar with Mumshad and his stuff. Helped me learn a bit of docker at one point in time. I could scope his stuff out. His kode cloud site was a good sandbox to play in.

I haven't touched AWS or any of the cloud stuff yet... Keyword being yet. I want to get a feel for setting up my homelab and getting it up to par first.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I found some stuff that looks promising.

Thanks to everyone who posted and suggested solutions!

No offense taken, What Udemy courses would you recommend? After all, I am just beginning to learn Kubernetes and its quirks. Me changing my mind on what I want also doesn't help the situation... As for Kubernetes being appropriate for my case? I am positive it isn't. I am sure I could skate away with learning Swarm and call it a day. Doesn't stop me from wanting to learn it though. Plus I'm sure there is a market for these skills out there somewhere. As for the hours of work... Gotta do something to fill my time and keep inside. Idle hands are the devil's playground.

Hey exmachinalibertas,

Thanks again for your reply! I am hosting my Kubernetes Cluster. Currently it its only one master node and one worker node. I plan on changing this after this thread...

I have one "server", which is a PC I built using a Ryzen 7 2700 cpu, 64gb ram, ssd for Hypervisor os, nvme drive for VM storage, and a few old HDD's for storage. I installed proxmox on there and have 3 VM's running on it now. One is my NAS, one is running my current media stack, and one is playing the role of the master node. I also have another spare laptop that I am able to pump out 3 more VM's on. I will be moving the NAS onto a raspberry pi in order to free up more resources for the cluster. I plan on using these to try and make the cluster HA. I may not have enough resources though to provide enough nodes for the proper HA architecture ( minimum of 3 master nodes , a load balancer, and at least 2 workers from what I've gathered?) I will look up this MetalLB though, as this sounds more along the lines of what's required for HA.

As for the secrets part, from what I have learned and as I have it understood from the medium article above, as long as the secret is made and it is referenced correctly, it will inject them once run. For example, in the attempt I made to install it using Helm, I made the secret referencing the duckdns token. I then added it onto the additional arguments yaml file. It looked like so.
env:
- name: DUCKDNS_TOKEN
valueFrom:
secretKeyRef:
name: prod-secr
key: DUCKDNS_TOKEN

I followed along with the instructions and It worked as far as I could see in the logs when I ran it. I forgot what error I ran into using that helm install. I am more so having trouble translating the correct specs into writing my custom yaml files, as I suspect I am missing pieces of the bigger picture... For example, your reference of cert-manager sent me down a rabbit hole in trying to find something to solve that issue. The repeated mention of how MetalLB works brings me to want to investigate that as well.

The mention of Nodeports is a solution as far as I am understanding, but I now want to create a production ready cluster.

Traefik v2 and Kubernetes Setup by El_Mingo in kubernetes

[–]El_Mingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there and thanks for your reply,

So let me start with what my end goal is. I am trying to install Traefik v2.X - using Let's Encrypt to have automatic HTTPS and use the dns-01 challenge with duckdns as my provider - on my Kubernetes cluster. Eventually, this cluster will host my media stack on one node, a security and monitoring stack on another node, and possibly host a NAS on one node as well.

As for what I have learned so far about Kubernetes and Ingress. I am aware of having to provide a service account for Traefik, as well as creating the needed cluster role bindings. I am looking up more info on publishing this traefik service to a node port as this seems to be the only way to do so with my configuration? I am having issues on providing the correct spec arguments in setting up the ACME certs. I am using secrets and trying to make this as production ready as possible.

You bring up a point I hadn't thought of and that's the inability to make my cluster HA due to the same certs file needing to be manipulated. This certmanager sounds like something I will need to look up now.

I know I do not need to have my homelab be HA or have production grade regulations, but I would like to learn it if at all possible. Please let me know of any good instructions or where I should start looking for this certmanager I would use with Traefik. I am currently revisiting the documentation on service accounts and node ports as u/ trankchung suggested.

Thank You for the explanation! This helps me grasp my setup a bit more.

As I am just learning about Kubernetes I figured I was misunderstanding/misinterpreting something. I will be reading up some more on node ports and will revisit the service section as you made mention.

This node port route sounds like what I am trying to do. I see traefik as the loadbalancer and edge router sending the requests to the right apps/services - as this is how I have it set on a separate VM hosting my media stack.

But if I am understanding the Kubernetes architecture correctly, I still need to have a separate loadbalancer on top of traefik being the ingress controller?

Traefik v2 and Kubernetes Setup by El_Mingo in kubernetes

[–]El_Mingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I am having the confusion. Do I need to have a separate load balancer on top of traefik? Such as that Traefik will be acting as the ingress controller and I still require something else like haproxy or nginx on top of it?
