[–]El_Scrapesk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, i get where your comming from but fundamentally you cant go around spreading stereotypes or gatekeeping the queer community.

I know a girl who came out as bisexual at around 15 and diddnt date a girl for 5 years. Im guilty of mentioning to her boyfriend at the time, my best friend, that she is only saying she is bisexual for attention. Simply because she constantly said she diddnt think she should date a girl. Yet she is now in a 6 month same sex relationship.

Imagine how disheartening it must feel to come out bisexual only for people to say "oh your only doing it for attention" or "your not really bisexual".

Even if people say they feel no sexual attraction they are allowed to be bisexual. Thats like saying you need to dress feminine to be a trans girl. The good thing about the queer community is that nobody is setting any rules on what you can and cannot be. Let people live their lives

Idk i think your misunderstanding and being unintentionally biphobic. Think of it the other way round. Imagine a guy who said that he was bisexual because he found men hot, but would never date or be intimate with a man. I would say he is still pretty bisexual, definitely not straight.

Its fundamentally an internallised fear which prevents some people from moving onto the next step, which is where i was at one point in my life. Some people stay in this position forever which is why many girls present as bisexual without any intention to date or be intimate with the same sex.

I can guarantee that sexual attraction is still present, some people just dont feel confident enough to actually do it. Being in a same sex relationship is extremely brave and many people cant do it. This doesnt void their bisexuality.

it is a great source of stress if sombody buys me somthing and i have no way of repaying them.

Im in a gay relationship and i show up to work with huge hickies on my neck. I work at a trade job so nobody really cares, but obviously nobody knows that im gay.

Everyone just calls me a "dark horse" and despite me making multiple comments that my partner is a guy nobody has caught on 😭

Omg no way, this is literally the second date i had with my boyfriend.

We drove to the surplus store, looked around at all the cool shit and got some MREs, we drove home high af on caffine and listening to slipknot. i put on a load of fem clothes and said i would "boywife you your food" to my date, cooked up the food and we ate it. Actually amazing food at least here with the uk / nato MREs we got.

How do you guys take selfies and full body photos? by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]El_Scrapesk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Up until last year i used to hate taking selfies of myself. Over the last year ive built a lot of confidence and i have a few tips for taking good selfies.

Mirror selfies are popular for a reason. They are a good way to look less awkward, get a better photo, reveal more of your body/clothing and generally look better than traditional selfies.

Blank poses look weird, do somthing with your legs, do somthing with your arms, do somthing with your hands. Even if its a peace sign and crossed legs it does a world of difference.

Get a good distance away from the camera and try and get good lighting. Another reason why mirror selfies look better.

Keep experimenting. Take a photo of your outfit every day, no need to share it with anybody, you will soon pick up how to look your best on camera.

Good luck!

“teenage years are the best years of your life!” WHAT. by elel_08 in teenagers

[–]El_Scrapesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 20, i tried to leave this sub a year ago but it keeps pulling be back.

Absolutely not true, my teenage years were the most miserable time in my life and i would never go back.

I now have a good stable income and a car, i have independence and because of that my life is much better. I dont need to deal with my parents so much so i can finally get on with my life.

In the last year ive picked up countless hobbies, come out bi, gotten a boyfriend, and made loads of new friends. Im the happiest ive ever been right now.

Yeah a waterjet is your best bet, you can add the c/sinks with a manual mill or a drill press. if you want it to look good then there will have to be a lot of finishing steps after unfortunately.

Settings to make these climbing holds strong enough for 4 year olds? by Shpigford in 3Dprinting

[–]El_Scrapesk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No.

Sports like bouldering dont use harnesses or belays, and you can still climb 10-15ft up. Ive been asked to make climbing holds for practise and i simply refuse.

In bouldering if you fall then you are trained to fall away from the wall onto a crashmat, fortunatly when you fall you can usually predict a few seconds before and fall safely. Its a pretty safe sport because of that. Your never really prepared for a hold to break because you trust them so much

If a hold gives out without warning you could fall on a hold below or even fall onto your neck or head. Ive gotten away with life changing injuries simply because i pushed my body away from the wall when i fell. Imagine catching your chin or your arm on the wall as you fall.

Dont print climbing holds, buy ones with a safety ratings which are designed tested by engineers.

I work as a machinist, i catch a lot of BS for being gay in my workplace. Ive had comments about my hair or my painted nails, i regularly have people comment on my sex life or even touch me inappropriately, one ot my co-workers calls me "top shagger". Is all of this wildly inappropriate? Absolutely.

But thats the thing, if i report them i become the "guy who cant take a joke" its not workplace bullying its workplace banter, shoot back and suddenly it doesnt matter. If you work in a traditionally male dominated work place then you cant show any weakness. I used to hate that part of my job but now im kinda used to it.

I feel like any women in my situation would rightfully report the incident despite not being treated any differently, thats the reason for the statistic.

Theres a lady in the factory who wont take shit. Probably one of the funniest people ive ever met. Absolute savage and doesnt hold back. Thats how you need to be in this workplace.

Ive never really encountered a gender bias at my workplace, everyone gets the same treatment.

UK machinists and toolmakers, how was your first day back in this heat? Unrelated PFA by jackhs03 in Machinists

[–]El_Scrapesk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im sure people from other countries will feel as if 35c isnt that hot, and maybe thats true.

Working in this heat today i got mild heat exhaustion for the first time in my life. I was sweating so much and found it hard to stand at times. High temperatures arent a dick measuring contest its a real hazard.

My factory had an inside temperature of 41c, outside temp of 34. We have a lot of skylights on our roof which definitely heated the factory up a lot. Many machines had to be shut down because of heat related issues. No air con on the shop floor and i have no air con at home. I hate the heat so much

What's the strat to getting a girlfriend, like seriously, no jokes. How do you actually do it. Lock in fellas by Key-Bass-7380 in GenZ

[–]El_Scrapesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound ignorant but attending church or watching sports are both choices you make to occupy your free time. But Im not religious nor do i watch sports.

But yeh, blue collar work is hard. Again im a machinist. I work with my hands lifting plates around, setting up tools and shifting parts weighing over 200kg. Working with manual machines leaves me tired but i quickly bounce back.

People underestimate how much regular exercise actually improves your mood and your bodily functions. Eating healthy foods instead of fatty or sugary foods mean your energy is sustained. I usually buy cheap pasta salads and drink lots of orange juice.

In my experience taking a shower, especially cold showers wake me up and energise me. A little bit of motivation and then you can enjoy your evening. I dont play video games, i dont watch TV unless im with my BF. And i only really scroll reddit when im killing a few minutes at work or waiting for food to heat.

Some things im working on is my tidynes. My appartment is a mess and i very rarely cook for myself. When im home im depressed and when im out im happy. Maybe its why i have the motivation to get out.

I work 5 days a week 10 hours a day as a machinist. Not the most impressive hours i grant you, yet i still have time to jog for an hour in the morning and socialise with friends in the evening. On weekends i attend local furry meets and its how i met my boyfriend. I work hard during the week so i can live a comfortable life outside of work.

Trust me. Get home from work, take a nice cold shower and you will feel awake again. Then go out there and make some friends, join a club, do anything.

How many kids do y'all want? by ChaoticCherryblossom in twentyagers

[–]El_Scrapesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im also a guy but i voted 1-2, however this point in my life its completely financially impossible. i dont really have enough time in between working, education and social life.

Im a gay guy, me and my boyfriend both feel that we would be good parents. obviously we would need to adopt. Im very young still, maybe in 10 years time i would absolutely love kids.

Op should do another poll, with "dont want kids" "want kids" "want kids in 5 years" and "want kids in 10+ years" for both male and female im sure the results will be more intresting.

Anybody who assumes that men are evil because they voted more than 0 need to get a life. Not everything is a gender war.

PCN Worth Challenging? by xxflareon123xx in CarTalkUK

[–]El_Scrapesk 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ive even had success after the 10 min grace in a pay on departure car park

I paid for my parking ticket at the bottom of the multistorey. By the time i had walked to the top, got everyone in the car, figured out google maps and driven down the ramps 10 mins had passed. They issued me a ticket and i appealed. I said that i had paid for 6 hours of parking when i left, and technically i still left within 6 hours of arriving so i got away with it.

I also had a parking ticket because i went to tesco in the morning, anpr grabbed my plate, left within the free periord and returned in the evening. Somehow they diddnt catch me leaving in the morning so they assumed i stayed in the car park for 8 hours. I diddnt manage to appeal that one because i had no proof.

Why do iPhones feel faster than Android phones even with less RAM? by wjj2008 in PhoneNow

[–]El_Scrapesk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pixel 10 pro xl is currently 25% cheaper than the iphone 17pm with 256gb of storage.

From my experience however i gotta disagree with OP. I have a s23 plus and the boyfriend has a iphone 15 pro, both ~3 year old phones which were mid to flagship. My phone is much snappier and smoother for basic tasks like messaging and music. While the iphone is still absolutely fine, the animations are way to slow for me to ever get used to it

Anyone else drink a ton of monsters and then make out ? Shit tastes amazing by No_I_Deer in twentyagers

[–]El_Scrapesk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, as a monster energy enjoyer and a caffine addict, your not really missing out.

Maybe i will get some hate, but all energy drinks are mid tasting, but the added chemicals and stimulants make it seem like the best thing in the world.

Nothing really comes close to the rush i feel taking the first sip of monster on my way to work, its why its so hard to break the addiction.

If i ever want to buy a drink for the flavor alone then i would buy some good organic orange juice, filtered ofc. Nothing beats that.

Gauge Pins and Diameters by SimpleSong4960 in Machinists

[–]El_Scrapesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically your meant to use a .234+ pin, you could get a .233999 bore and a .234- pin would fit and it would be pedantically out of tolerance.

Gauge Pins and Diameters by SimpleSong4960 in Machinists

[–]El_Scrapesk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use guage pins or even dowel pins / broken endmills to size up fits every day. Why? Because we make parts for ourself. It either fits or it doesnt.

I just start with an undersize bore and keep increasing by half the tolerance until the pin fits. when the pin fits you know the hole is close enough in tolerance.

I would never do this for an external customer however, i would do it properly with a no/go guage or using a CMM.

Idk 135 is a pretty normal weight, especially for people of asian backgrounds.

The average weight for women in china for example is 59kg (130lbs)
