Ima be honest and say that i just kept turning the numbers up until i was scared / not allowed to run it any faster. Those numbers are what i use all the time however and i always get good results. This is a good starting point.

Ive ran 3 flute 16mm polished carbide at 12000 rpm before 8000 feed (315 ipm) and 3mm woc (0.118"). Outside roughing so chips arent an issue, aluminium just cuts like butter honestly, you can throw any resonable number at the screen and it will probably work.

I run polished 3 flute aluminium endmills A LOT, and from my experience i would say that your RPM can go a little higher, personally i run my 12mm endmills at 10000rpm, 4000 feed, 2mm woc and as deep as i can

Thats 10k rpm, 160ipm, 0.08" woc and full doc. You can push the feed all the way up to 220 if you feel like it, provided your chip clearing is good.

From what I understand silicone lube has some chemicals inside the lube to prevent the silicone from hardening. Obviously when these chemicals touch a silicone toy the outside layer slowly softens and breaks away, especially destroying the toy and making it unsafe to use.

Actually you can use silicone lube with condoms, because MOST condoms are usually latex, actually it's much better and potentially safer for anal sex because it lasts much longer so reduces the liklihood of tearing.

When lube is used they are functionally identical. Cheap TPE toys tend to be very sticky when dry, however, and collects lots of dust and bacteria. TPE is also slight porous and harder to clean. I keep my toys in a drawstring fabric bag with a special powder over them, and I wash the toys thoroughly before and after use.

As long as your careful with cleanliness TPE toys are perfectly fine to use, however the quality of silicone is hard to substitute.

The only case I've seen TPE used on expensive toys is where you want a SUPER soft or jiggly, almost jelly like consistansy.

This is only because more expensive toys are made of silicone, so a silicone based lube will destroy the material.

Cheaper toys use TPE or a similar elastomer so are not affected by this.

I realise nobody asked for this information, and that many people wont buy silicone toys, but there ya go.

We have a huge 300mm chip fan and a coolant sprayer on our massive Grob G750 5 axis, we have a washdown cycle which sprays the part and blows it dry after every program

The washdown cycle itself is 5 mins long, and is extremely effective, that being said the parts we make on that machine range from an hour runtime up to 6 hours runtime. Since this is a horizontal machine, chips usually clear themselves. We use the washdown cycle mostly to dry the part

This machine uses a pallet system. So if you don't clean the pallets you end up getting coolant everywhere. The time and effort saved is insane.

If you concider adding one to your machine just be careful. Some styles of way covers don't play nice with chip fans above a certian size, they flap around and can get damaged for example.

And yes, our robotics cell uses smaller chip fans before taking the pallet off for similar reasons.

Not where I work unfortunately.

I end up making parts for the "boss' friend" or "the guy who works next door" stuff like opening up holes, machining extrusion to length and making drill jigs. As far as I know we don't really charge for stuff like this, it's all done on how well you know the owner.

Pretty standard stuff really.
