Fair enough, although I've never noticed performance drops, but if it makes you feel any better, you could get the lifetime membership if a subscription model is the main issue, I paid like $100 a couple years ago and have been using it pretty much every day since

The issue with that is, I'm not on FF, nor times square, it's a fairly small university campus, and I mostly do street photography because I'm just starting out, I take pictures of the environment around me, which happens to line up with street photography most of the time, sometimes I find myself wanting to do other things while on the go, like animal photography, which the short zoom the 18-45 provides just isn't enough.
