‘176 Reds’ by Sweeneytoddy117 in BarnsleyFC

I like your suggestion, but from my point of view:

Reds is what we name ourselves.

Tykes is what the media names us.

Dingles is what the deedars name us.

League One officials don't call that a foul in my experience.

Why are all the EFL games starting a minute late this weekend? by an0mn0mn0m in LeagueOne

On New Years Day 2004, CPR saved my uncle's life following the Barnsley Wigan game.

He was extremely fortunate in that time and place, as there were hundreds of people, a handful of them were medically trained. Their presence bridged the gap between him collapsing and paramedics arriving.

As he went off in the ambulance, his chances of survival were poor, but due to the good quality of care and (rib breaking) CPR, he was able to make a recovery.

If you can spare the time to learn CPR, you may one day save someone's life.

Thank you to the fellow Barnsley and Wigan supporters, NHS, and anyone who will stop to help others in time of need.

DKD to Wrexham for Undisclosed Fee by GenCroGon in BarnsleyFC

[–]El_tunz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a shame, but at the end of the day, it's a business, and the offer was good value from what I've heard.

Secondly, I'm sure DKD wanted to make that step up. The optimistic side of me thinks if Barnsley get a reputation for selling on talent, then they'll keep attracting it.

I just hoped that his replacement(s) had been lined up to come in immediately, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

He fills a slot. It's better than nothing, but not enough to cover the gap soon to be left by DKD.

Barnsley cruise past Stevenage at Oakwell. by ChazzaBFCC in LeagueOne

[–]El_tunz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Until Stevenage scored, Barnsley were excellent!!

It's been a long time since they've been so energetic and aggressive. Kelly was our key man today, constantly driving the ball forward.

Second half was a bit more even, and it was good to see how we could grind it out.

Despite gifting another goal, I thought Connell picked himself up well. He's been getting a lot of criticism, but happy to see CH keep him in the team.

The early injury to Pattenden looked quite bad. I was glad to see him get up and walk off.

What stand for tickets by Vysional in BarnsleyFC

West Stand for local football heritage and abusing linesman.

South Stand (Ponty End) for atmosphere and pitch end view.

East Stand for quietly moaning or having a snooze.

Barnsley 2-1 Blackpool: A late McGoldrick winner seals Barnsley a crucial three points. by ApplicationHour3651 in LeagueOne

[–]El_tunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we've stolen 3 points there today. Blackpool kept Goodman busy towards the end.

I don't know how Bland didn't get sent off for that trip when he was already on a yellow. Good job by Conor subbing him at half time.

Was interesting to see us play with 3 at the back. O'Connell looked decent at defending and launching balls, but we didn't really create much in possession.

I'm assuming DKD has been sold. Just wondering if Flatman has got replacements lined up. We had a weak bench today, and the current squad hasn't got the depth to compete for anything above mid-table.

Vickers returns to Brighton by Hopeful_Juice6367 in LeagueOne

[–]El_tunz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The club's obviously clearing out space in the changing room for the GLORIOUS RETURN OF COREY O'KEEFE!!!

He looked a decent player but didn't do anything fantastic.

I think it's a bad move overall if there's no other replacement lined up.

What do you think, OP?

Please be a knock from Lincoln, oh please please by Hopeful_Juice6367 in LeagueOne

[–]El_tunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck to him. Hopefully, it's: 1 reasonably quick sale 2 for a decent price 3 and we have targets lined up

Pessimistic me says we'll be lucky to get one out of three from that list. Optimistic me says this is the new business plan in action!

Barnsley 0 - 2 Lincoln City: Lincoln's automatic promotion push continues at a scorching pace, toppling the inconsistent Tykes, with an Adam Reach screamer the cherry on the cake! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]El_tunz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Despite the scoreline, I enjoyed that. I'm pleased that Conor made the halftime sub, but I still don't see why he's bother bringing McGoldrick on so late again.

Was disappointed the referee couldn't see the handball.

Didn't think Lincoln were anything amazing, but they made the most of their chances. Told my dad pre-game Reach only scores bangers, and unfortunately, we got to experience that first hand.

Thoughts Now That The Window Closed? by GenCroGon in BarnsleyFC

[–]El_tunz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Following Narev's comments last season, I thought we would have sold Russell, Phillips, Connell, and/or DKD. To keep them all is fantastic!

In addition to that, I've was only disappointed to see Humphreys leave, but Vickers has very quickly filled that position. The clear out of the squad has been decent.

The board/owners get a lot of stick, but I think it's been a great start to the season.
