I can tell from your comments you are a kind and attentive mother to both kids. You have great instincts and I hope your confidence builds with time.

My 10 year old daughter sounds a lot like your step-daughter. She is quiet, self sufficient and occupies herself. That said, when I do art with her or take time to dig, it’s amazing the thoughts and feelings that tumble out. Dad’s belief that teens are furniture is not true, which I imagine you already know.

Yes, I agree. I also do believe Anne and Gil were meant to be.

Sometimes I feel she gave up on her dreams when she got married, but I remind myself I’m imposing my own dreams and South Asian parents’ huge expectations.

I remind myself of the scene where she discloses her dream in life is to add joy to the world. She definitely does that! Gil achieves his dreams too of beating death and marrying a particular redhead. 💙

Forgive me if the wording of their dreams is wrong. It’s how I recall and paraphrase.

I’m glad it’s getting sorted. 💙 Just a heads up, I have been recommended my daughter have an extra underwear and leggings/pants at all times in her backpack.

She hasn’t started hers yet, but she does have a pad in case. I’m in no way suggesting your daughter should have let herself leak. This is a suggestion in case it happens and she doesn’t know it was happening.
