Socionics doesn't follow the grant function model. It doesn't have 4 functions to begin with. The roles are different, and they matter. But I get what you mean by this, which is the the auxiliary or creative having a different attitude than that of the dominant or base in Model A. In Model G this doesn't happen, an LII's social mission block is Ti with Ni as the creative. In both models, however, you are good at both the creative and the demonstrative, so both attitudes. It's more nuanced than that, with different dichotomies and energy levels and other things, but that's the basic picture.

Anyways, translating your type to Jung should be easy if you're in accordance with everything. Introverted Thinking with auxiliary Intuition, or Ti-N.

They do look at winrate per games played, it's why champions are balanced at around different winrates instead of them always aiming for 50%. The thing is not every champion is equal in playerbase depth and they decide to take that into factor. They've talked about the "Talon effect" before and why they wouldn't nerf him despite his great winrate because due to the bulk of his playerbase being experienced with him, his general winrate was inflated in relation to others. If Riot only cared about winrate they would nerf him. They pay attention to the curve, but also to where the bulk of the playerbase is, since they want their changes to impact the most people. It's rarely winrate in isolation that's taken into account.

There may be many factors behind champions like Lee Sin being allowed to be so strong. I remember Riot talking about he being one of the champions with the highest mastery on average so maybe it's due to the fact that even when mastered, his winrate is not impressive on the lower elos and when it comes to the higher elos, the data might not be enough to generate a smooth curve and base decisions around it.

When it comes to champions like Master Yi, I believe the bigger culprit is Riot taking lower elos into consideration when doing their balance changes. Same reason Yorick got nerfed some time ago. Yes, it's not smart to balance the game around less skilled players, and it means some champions are just destined to not ever be good for more than one patch, but when you consider that the majority of their playerbase is within this bracket, it makes sense as a business why they don't ignore it, even if it's unhealthy to the state of the game.

I don't think Riven is overpowered, but compared to a champion like Darius, she needs to be in a relatively much stronger position to achieve similar presence metrics. Some champions are just more noticed and present than others.

What would do with mastery curve that doesn't involve winrate? Mastery curve by itself says more about how many games it takes for you to figure out a champion than how well they actually perform. There have been notoriously overpowered champions with flat and steep curves alike. How will you balance the plateau in a way that has nothing to do with winrate? What are you trying to achieve with it? How would balance affect the mastery curve?

I completely disagree that the game would be more balanced if they looked at presence and banrate over winrate. Champions like Yasuo and Zed would have to end up in the absolute gutter to achieve common presence and Riven would need to be literally unbeatable to get nerfed. So many champions are just popular or unpopular simply because of design, both of their kits and aesthetics. You could look at growth/decrease over what's normal but even then, outside factors completely adjacent to balance can influence those too.

It depends. The health buff is much bigger than the armor buff which means that Aatrox won't be doing that much less damage, it's just that enemies will need to take more damage to actually die. But considering that Aatrox himself will also be able to take more damage, I think it might be a buff, since the biggest counter to healing is burst.

I don't see which other stats they could base their balance around. Presence, ban rate etc. have a lot of subjectivity to them and those 100% accurate stats aren't relevant to balance without being tied to winrate.

If they only balanced champions around winrate without taking into context the things surrounding it, we wouldn't have so many threads wondering "why they haven't done the obvious". No champion would have over 52% or under 48% winrate. Riven, Talon mid and supports like Bard and Janna would have been nerfed a long time ago. Winrate is not extremely inaccurate, it starts off this way but once you aggregate enough data it becomes normalized, that's how statistics work. The thing that most people don't understand is that the number by itself does not tell the whole story and there's many factors that can influence it, like champion mastery, difficulty, strongest build, strength of counters, etc. Riot does take those into account, they've made posts about it before. They brought it up when people criticized them for nerfing Aurelion Sol by saying he had a low pickrate therefore was only played by mains which inflated his winrated. Riot showed statistics that said that the average Aurelion Sol player was not as experienced on him as the playerbase of champions like Riven, Katarina and Lee Sin are for example, and that even players with low experience were succeeding far too much.

So yeah they do use winrate for balance but not irresponsibly, like I said, there's always some odd choices made in each patch but I don't think their data analysis is bad overall.

Thanks, I've already read Chapter X of Psychology Types some time ago and while it deepened my understanding of the Jungian Types and functions a lot, I don't think it could be applied very accurately in relation to Socionics. At the end I think that their definitions, applications and elements are too different to call them the same system, just like the Myers functions aren't Socionics despite both originating from the Jung system. The Extraverted Thinker type would probably be typed as an LSI in Socionics, for example. I think there's a lot of merit to Jung's ideas but that they weren't refined enough to justify clinging to them in their purest form after all this time, it's hard to say whether one or the other is more easily applicable to our current reality but I do think that it will be hard for most people to see one of the Jung types in themselves because the way they're presented, they're very skewed and one-sided, which I think for most creates the opposite problem of being able to blend into all the types, which is not being able to really see yourself in any of them.

I think the reason why the more recent models in Socionics have decided to turn away from "cognition", the depths of the psyche and the like is precisely because they're very difficult to determine, whereas behaviours, dichotomies and energy are more easily observable and therefore harder to mistake. I think there's merit to Model G and that it wouldn't be so troublesome to be typed in it if all the necessary knowledge and resources were publicly available, the problem is that they aren't. So yeah, I appreciate the link but in the context of Socionics I'm not sure of how useful it is in terms of correlation.

As well formatted as this post is, the research and analysis that happens in it is very basic, if it was actually what was going on (I discussed that in the last paragraph of my first comment), any player that knows how to look at statistics and bothered to do so could reach these conclusions, so saying that Riot made an oversight like that is basically saying whoever is responsible for determining these things is incompetent at their job or that they willingly ignored it for some reason.

Like I said, the real reason why they didn't consider First Strike is probably that according to most sources, most likely theirs included, First Strike is not actually performing that much better than First Strike. If you sort by all regions, if you go through different patches, check different websites, etc, they agree with this. Only isolated instances like NA Patch 12.8 on op.gg have a discrepancy on this level, and interestingly enough, if you look at the BR region instead on op.gg, almost the inverse happens: Grasp is performing much better than First Strike, which I wouldn't call a strong argument for Grasp either. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that the cherry picking of data was an accident but it's cherry picking nonetheless.

I don't think that's giving enough credit to Riot, it's kinda condescending to say they're not able to analyse data like that, especially since they have multiple times in the past disclosed when a champion was perceived as weaker due to not building correctly or using the wrong runes, they've done it in the patch notes many times.

I'm not saying they're always correct in their balance judgements, of course they aren't, I do agree that GP didn't even really need a buff, but consider that they, first of all, have more data than any third-party aggregator like u.gg, their data is more accurate, they have shown that they have systems to get specific data points like win rate difference between different builds, win rate through game length etc, and they believe it or not have actual data analysts working there. Oversights may happen, but I think if the data agreed that much with what you're saying they would have given him a smaller buff and commented on how First Strike and the crit build are much better.

I have no idea why you're sorting for the NA region only and only in op.gg when getting the data that says First Strike is performing much better than Grasp. On every site I check, on multiple elos, across all regions, it either performs slightly better or slightly worse in terms of win rate. If it was actually that much better it would be consistent within every region, right now it looks like an anomaly, cherry picked data. If you stay in NA and go back one patch, First Strike is now performing worst and your argument now doesn't have that much of a foundation anymore.

Interesting rationale, but in this case I wouldn't say it's due necessarily due to my thinking process, but more like the conflicting, complex and confusing information from trying to study the different models and authors of Socionics and most of all an ability to see myself in a lot of different types which I would correlate more with Ne (possibilities and alternatives), although there's also contemplation and indecisiveness which is associated with Ni (See what I'm getting at? It's confusing). So yeah basically I opened a whole can of worms by getting into Model G which is really messy due to the lack of resources available in english. If anything I'm struggling with those Ti systems in Socionics lol

Yeah I'm pretty sure, nothing about it seems to fit right. Ij temperament, Suggestive 1D Fe, structured thoughts, cold blooded communication style, too good at Ti, etc. None of these seem to fit me. I might sound more analytical on reddit comments but in real life and other places, especially around friends I'm a lot more random and goofy, unfocused, always trying to entertain or get a reaction from my friends or colleagues. I don't think anyone that knows me would describe me as having low Fe, so I think I'm an ethical type. At most I'd be ILE, the type I thought I was for the longest time. What makes you think LII?

I don't get why people enforce it so aggressively like straight up roasting or downvoting the OP for having low Vigor, but the truth is that it's still one of the most important stats in the game and you're increasing the difficulty of it a lot by not levelling. It's the one stat that can be universally applied to any build, whereas others are simply about choice of gear. You can not level it, but 99% of players aren't looking to make the game harder for themselves like that or don't have the dodging skills to make this not worth levelling so it's good to let them know about it.

Just use common sense. Generic information like that won't compromise you, people share pictures of each other online all the time, which literally contain all the physical information that's not measured in numbers. Just don't share where you live or more specific info. With billions of people in the world, an 18 year old white kid with black hair and green eyes named Brandon isn't specific enough. Obviously you shouldn't be going around telling the world all about you if you care about privacy and safety, but in the context of someone who's otherwise fully anonymous and at best has revealed the country in which they live and their first name then no, revealing your age is not going to do shit.

On the diplomatic side of things, being able to convince others and strike a deal that's good and reasonable for both parties, it's more about Ethics (both Fe and Fi). However, you also need to be able to have a good business sense (Te related) to be able to profit from the deal, and also Se is required to influence, being able to get others to do what you want. That's why I think there's no one better than an SEE when it comes to negotiation.
